Travel Impact from Swine Flu
Hoping for the best for our LL friends in Mexico.
Wondering if anyone else is changing / cancelling their travel plans to Mexico due to the recent swine flu outbreak. I know that some airlines are allowing ticket changes. Are cruise ships following suit? Does anyone know if travel insurance cover such an event (whether it is this one, or any other health outbreak where your country recommends not traveling to the location).Message Edited by shygirl724 on 04-28-2009 04:44 AM
Re: Travel Impact from Swine Flu
I have been wondering the same things. My fiancee and I recently purchased a luxurylink package and have booked our travel for our honeymoon this summer (less than 3 months away now) and we're considering changing our plans. I'll be following up with luxurylink this evening as well as the company we booked our flights through in order to find out if there are any allowances or canellation options. If those two options are not viable, I'll be looking into the travel insurance option. I will let you all know when I have more information about these.

Greg,
First of all - congratulations on your upcoming marriage!
There is a similar discussion on this topic in the LL General Q&A board. You may find some additional advice in that thread. Often that is a more active board, and there are LL regular posters in the travel industry that may be able to give you advice. Best of luck! Frankly, if it is a couple of months away, I would not hesitate to take the trip. By then things will be settled down (and you will probably be able to get great deals and offers from the restaurants and entertainment at your site, as they will be trying to lure back customers. A check this AM shows that the cruise ships are only cancelling stops in the near future. They are continuing their trips that occur further out.
