Celebration, Florida
Will be visiting Celebration within a few months. Any suggestions for restaurants in the Celebration area? Any feedback on the Celebration hotel? Thanks for any info. (will be attending a wedding.)

I live near Celebration, so I've never stayed at the hotel. The lobby is lovely, though small. The hotel restaurant is very nice as well. The restaurants within a few blocks of the hotel look interesting. Don't miss ice cream at Kilwin's!

Thanks so much. Where would you recommend for breakfast? It would be about 9 people. Also, any favorite casual restaurants? We are not familiar with the area at all. What is the driving time to the Park? Thanks for help!

The only place I know of that serves breakfast (outside of the hotel, which probably does) is the Windmill Restaurant at the Golf Course. However I've never eaten there.
You will only be 10 minutes from the parks. For some interesting casual restaurants about 20 minutes away, you could go to the Sand Lake area in Dr. Phillips (a section of Orlando). I recommend Press 101 on Dr. Phillips Blvd. in the Marketplace for interesting light fare and outside seating (with live jazz on the weekends), or a little less "casual" Seasons 52 or Timpano - both are more casual in their bar areas where you can get great appetizers that make a meal.
Between Celebration and that area of Dr. Phillips, on Apopka-Vineland Road, there are a zillion chain restaurants as well.

Hi B. You are wonderful. Thanks so much for your help. Can't wait to visit! It sounds a little more relaxed than staying in the park area. How far will we be from the airport? Our flight home is early in the morning. Thank you!

I would allow 45 minutes to get to the airport. It's hard to predict when the airport will be busy, but if it is, check-in and security can take 45 minutes as well. If no bags are checked and the security line is short it can take 10 minutes.
If you check bags on your incoming flight, be prepared for a long wait at baggage claim.
Enjoy your trip!

Great suggestions. Because we are only going for the weekend, we will use carry on. I haven't "carried on" in years!!! I typically bring the whole kitchen sink however, most of our trips are out of the country. I will have to pack light. Thanks for your timing suggestions. It is an 8am flight home on a Sunday so hoping all the people will still be sleeping. Thank you again for your help!!

I grew up around the area. 45 minutes is a VERY comfortable time to make it to the airport. But then, Ive been known to drive expediently.
There are always so many small restaurants for breakfast in the region, it's hard to really point out one that stands out. For dinner though, you're a fairly short drive up to Orlando proper and one of my favorite places, Cafe Tutu Tango. It's tapas and you may need a reservation. It's been there for ages and every time I go back, I still find it to be as good as I always remember it.

The only downside I'd mention is that it can be loud. But that have a fabulously fun environment and the sangria is fantastic.

Thanks M. It will be a wedding group of family and friends so the tapas restaurant sounds like a lot of fun! I think we will stay close by for the breakfast and venture out for lunch/dinner. We have an 8:05am flight on Sunday so we will allow 45 minutes to drop off car and get to the airport. Shouldn't have as many people on that day/time.
