If you long for lobster or go crazy for crab cakes, San Diego is the place to be. Known for its seafood, the Southern California city by the shore offers a plethora of fish and sushi restaurants—and at many of them, patrons also enjoy ocean views along with the noteworthy cuisine. Here, Carnet introduces you to five great San Diego restaurants where you can enjoy your favorite fish dishes.
Seafood is a perfect choice when dining light; crab cakes, oysters and gently cooked pan-fried fish are the most satisfying menu options. From the northern region of La Jolla Shores to the southern cityscape of the Gaslamp Quarter, the editors of TravelwithCarnet.com recommend The Marine Room, Truluck’s, Top of the Market, Taka and Nobu for excellent seafood and sushi selections across the San Diego area.

Crabcakes??? You must go to the Chesapeake Bay area of Maryland! We enjoyed great crabcakes at The Inn at Perry Cabin, an Orient Express Hotel. We enjoyed it so much, we are heading back for more crabcakes and a great stay this month!

I agree, I would head to Maryland for crab cakes and to Maine for the freshes lobsters ever. True, today you can ship seafood anywhere, but for the freshest seafood head to Maryland and to Maine.
