HOTEL DUPONT - WILMINGTON, DELAWARE

An unusual set of circumstances brought me to this city. A friend needed help with dental surgery and the Dupont
was the best choice in terms of proximity. The history of the hotel and the ambiance therein was worth each moment.
The service was great, and the manager was very kind and gave us a special rate because our journey was one
of mercy. Low lights and classical music fill the air as you enter your room --and Mrs. Dupont's love of fresh flowers is
still a time-honored tradition throughout the hotel. One special touch for me was my request that coffee be served near
the baby grand in the lobby -- they said it was the first request of its kind, but they graciously accommodated us. By all means
"Do the Dupont"....your thick terry robe and slippers to match are waiting........

Excellent post. Plus, Wilmington is in close proximity to Philadelphia so it is a great trip idea to combine both cities. Wilmington also hosts travelling exhibits. Years ago we saw the Nicholas and Alexandra exhibit in Wilmington. Thanks for bringing to light a city that most people don't know too much about. Your description of the hotel is right on.
