Jet Luxury/The Signature at MGM Grand/Las Vegas
Hello All,
I've just returned from 4 nights at The Signature at MGM Grand through Jet Luxury. I purchased 2 packaged on LL for two nights each and booked them back to back with Jet Luxury. Let me explain how this hotel works with Jet Luxury.
The Signature at MGM Grand are three towers of suites attached to the MGM Grand via long walkways. Jet Luxury rents out several of these suites.Guests can book directly through The Signature or through Jet Luxury.
I arrived early on Monday but was not able to check in until after 2:00 pm. It turns out that the Jet Luxury rooms are cleaned by their own service, not the service used by the rest of the hotel, so when the rooms are available is subject to when the room gets cleaned.Because JL only has a few of the roomsin these three towers, I could not ask for a different room. So I had to wait. The guests who had been in our room had not yet checked out by 12:30 (check out is at 11:00) so the front desk called the JL cleaning service, who gently reminded the guests that they had to leave. I also called Mercedes at JL (who was at lunch)and left a message advising that I was sitting in the lobby waiting for my room.
When I finally got into my room, the phone rang and it was Mercedes calling me back asking how she could help; but since I was now in my room, I didn't need anything else. I was pleased to see that she did return my call as soon as she could. As I mentioned in one of my previous emails about Jet Luxury, they were and have been very quick to respond and easy to deal with.
Okay, now for the room -- Lot's of pros- some cons... The room itself was large and on the corner of the 17th floor so we had a large balcony, and windows on two sides, so we were treated to several different views of Las Vegas. The rooms look just like the photos, but the size of them is actually larger than expected, with the exception of the kitchen. The kitchen was compact but very, very nice and well appointed. The main bathroom (there are two!) was HUGE and beautifully appointed. Lots of towels, a huge jetted tub, his and her vanities, with a vanity stool, TV, separate "WC" plenty of shampoo etc and super clean!. I'd give this bathroom a 9!
The master bedroom has large, bed, SUPER comfortable, two closets, a big flat screen tv that recessed into a dresser thingy. Good lighting in this room.
The living room was comfortable - it had a pull out couch, a dining area, comfortable chairs etc plus one more bathroom with a toilet, sink and shower.
So as far as space and appointments, I'd give the place a 9.
Here are some of the cons:
The carpet choice makes the carpet look dirty.
The handle on the shower of the second bathroom was just about to fall off
The lampshade in the living room was ripped
There were large black scuff marks on several doors
I felt these little issues will prevent this property from being one of the really exclusive options in Las Vegas.
What to watch out for:
Since Jet Luxury handles their own rooms, if you need anything, you must go through them.... so you'll be in trouble if you need something after 6:00 pm when the Maids/housekeeping goes home. We did not have a wine opener in the kitchen so I called down to the front desk to get one - they refered me back to JL housekeeping and it was after six.... BUT, JL did find someone who was still around and brought one up to me. So double check to see if you have everything you need before the evening.
Part of our package included breakfast $$ and additional $$ for dinner/spa etc. Because we were there for 4 days, we ended up getting a $250.00 MGM Gift card which was on my bed when I entered my room. This was a cool way to handle the "certificates" as it allowed us to use the money at any MGM restaurant, spa etc. PLUS, I talked to the concierge at The Signature, and he gave me a "card" which offered two for oneentrees, drinksand/or other discounts at the MGM Grand because it was during the week and business is slower. I took full advantage of this cardand saved a bundle on dinner and then "paid" for it using my MGM gift card.
Speaking of food.... The little cafe (Delights) on sight is nice but totally overpriced... walk over to the MGM Grand to eat. We had dinner at Shibuya (Sp?) one night and the food was AWESOME... the sushi was so fresh and the lobster dish we had was wow, so great! We also ate at Fiamma's (Italian) which was good- not great. Both places we received a free entree with our MGM card.
We also ate at Stripsteak in the Mandalay and had the Kobe beef burgers with duck fat fries --- yummy, yummy, yummy! Plus a stop at In-and-Out Burger on our last day (having grown up in California, stop at In-and-Out when ever I can as we do not have them in the Northwest)....
So once again, great eating in Las Vegas.
Back to the Signature at MGM Grand.... Our tower (1) had a gym that was well appointed. There are three pools, one for each tower. The pools are small, but there were plenty of comfortable chaises and the towels are fantastic- large and fluffy. They also have bar/food service at the pool and have cabanas, umbrellas and plenty of ice cold water available. Because it was during the week, the pool wasn't too crowded, and no kids. I suspect this changes over the weekend.
All in all, I would recommend the Jet Luxury package for The Signature at MGM Grand if and only if the pricing stays low. There are somany bargains in Vegas right now ( a friend of mine stayed at THE HOTEL at The Mandalay Bay for $89.00 per night!). Also, because the property does not have a casino and the rooms do have the kitchens, it is a great place to stay for longer periods of time.
Hope this informatiohelps!

CMDAVILACLI...great job!
A little surprised you have not included a photo of the white gloves you used to check for dust!
Unless I'm mistaken, The Signature at MGM Grand is one of several hotel/condo deals in Vegas that got caught in the economic downturn....and I believe the Jet Luxury arrangement is a way to develop some sort of revenue stream for the developer until sales pick up.
This is a well written, detailed and meaninglful review....at least to us!- Ω -

I'm a Vega visitor and I can tell you right now, there are a lot of unsold condo/hotel rooms deals begging for help in that town. I usually stay at the Wynn.
