The Museum of Art was built by John Ringling specifically to house his collections of antiquities and paintings by master artists including Peter Paul Rubens, Velazquez and Van Dyck. Pieces from the internationally recognized museum have been displayed around the world at museums including the Louvre in Paris, the Tate in London and the Vatican Museum in Rome. The 21 galleries also exhibit exquisite Asian and American works.

The romance and luxury of the roaring 1920s are celebrated in the spectacular C dZan Mansion. This 32-room Venetian-style palazzo was a labor of love for John Ringling and his wife Mable and reflects their European tastes and passion for opulence.

How nice to have the Ringling legacy brought to attention at LL.
I attended New College in Sarasota and was fortunate to have a Ringling home for our library. The pink marble at sunset is one of the loveliest sights when lounging (I mean, studying) in the arm of a banyan tree....)
