Shelburne Farms
Hi,
After visiting the Shelburne Museum, we also had a look at the Shelburne Farm which is not far from the Shelburne Museum. You can visit this 1,400 acre working farm, National Historic Landmark and non-profit environmental education center. Milk a cow in the Childrens Farmyard, wander scenic walking trails, join a guided property tour. The Welcome Center and Farm Store, open year-round, features a slide presentation and farm products, including Shelburne Farms farmhouse cheddar cheese. For information you can call 802-985-8686 or have a look at www.shelburnefarms.org. They are located at Junction of Harbor and Bay Roads, Shelburne, VT 05482, just down from the Shelburn Museum.

Re: Shelburne Farms
Hi travelfan
Now that I've read your excellent post on the Shelburne Farm in Vermont, I've added it to my list of "must-see" destinations for my wife and I to visit this fall (Oct/Nov) when we plan to drive east from Toronto to the Green Mountains for a visit. I was amazed to find out from the weblink to the Farm that you appended to your post, that Fredrick Law Olmstead, the visionary designer of Central Park in New York City, also had a hand in designing the somewhat utopian layout of Shelburne Farm. As such, this Vermont property is unique and certainly worth a visit for anyone touring the area. Thanx.
Curt
