Snake River Lodge?
Hi!I booked a LL package for Snake River Lodge in Jackson Hole. Has anyone been there? I'd also be interested in any restaurant suggestions for Teton Village, especially any with vegetarian options. Thanks!

Re: Snake River Lodge?
I stayed at Snake River Lodge a few years ago, just after they opened (with an LL package, and was blown away by the service, views, and lovely western-style rooms. Jackson Hole is one of my all-time favorite places, it is absolutely gorgeous and there is a lot to do. I highly recommend the hotel's restaurant Gamefish, as you might guess they specialize in fish and game, but the food in general is excellent and I would imagine they do a good vegetarian meal as well. I'm sorry I can't recall anything specific in Teton Village food-wise, hopefully another contributor has some ideas, it's been a little while for me!

Hi claassenam! We seem to be travelling in similar circles in these discussions! I'm glad to hear the positive report on Snake River Lodge. TheLL package includes one dinner in the Gamefish restaurant, so I know we'll try it. I had been to Jackson Hole years ago (about 15 years!) and really had mixed feelings about the "wild west" atmosphere. But I wasn't such a good skier backthen and took the chance to try it again now with a littlemore skill in that area.I think we'll mostly be skiing, but other advice and ideasare welcome!

Have a great trip Disneygal!
It's funny, I'm brand spanking new here but it seems like a lot of us on the Luxury Link boards are traveling to the same types of places - Peru, Jackson Hole, China....I'm sensing a trend. I'm not seeing anything at all about India, which was my most recent trip and which is a pretty popular place to go right now but when I have some more time maybe I'll bring it up on another board.

I just discovered this thread and love Jackson Hole so much I have to reply...even if you have taken your trip. Some great places to eat in Jackson Hole are: The Bunnery for breakfast or brunch...great variety and great quality. Game Fish in the Snake River Lodge is the very best for dinner. Next door at the Four Seasons is also good...a bit more California cuisine than Game Fish. After skiing, the Mangy Moose is good but not all that special unless you are ready to eat after leaving the slopes. If you have had your trip already, I hope it was great. Cheers...Marolyn

hi claasenam
While it does seem at first glance that a lot of LL Community contributors are travelling in similar circles, it should be noted that some are heading off to different locations. For example, several have voyaged to Africa for safaris or sightseeing the pyramids of Egypt. Qute a few favour South-east Asia and the exotic charms of Thailand and Sri Lanka. Why, our stalwart traveler mary-j from Scotland finds Dubai an absolute gem! And, don't forget us of the Canadian faction andour forages into 'forbidden' Cuba!

Your idea for a separate board for India is an excellent idea that is bound to stir a lot of interest and lively discussion. Good luck!

Hi Curtiejoe,
I wholeheartedly agree with you. My first couple weeks here it seemed everyone was posting regarding Peru and Snake River Lodge! That's why I posted that above a couple months ago. Maybe I was just noticing those more because I'd been and could contribute to the discussions. However, if you look at my posts since then you will notice that I am one of those who has been recently to Egypt, China, Japan, etc. I've also enjoyed the in-depth discussions regarding African safaris and Southeast Asia, as we are considering a trip to one of these locations in August. I think I've given up on a separate board for India for now since there doesn't seem to be too much interest, but I just noticed Jasher mentioned there is a new board for Asia so maybe I can work the information in there.

hi claasenam
To echo your sentiments, I'm amazed at how quickly and to what an extent the subject matter of the LL Community posts have broadened in scope and number. Although it seems quite some time ago, it's only been three months since I joined as a new contributor. Then, there were but a handful of boards and only a dozen or so different threads on each. It was relatively easy and quick to read each post and to send off either a reply or add a new post of my own. Now, I find, to do the same takes hours and has to be broken up into several log-ins over the space of a number of days. I can only wonder what the state of the LL Community will be in another three months! I'm sure you find it the same.

I have come to see the LL Community as a private travel log from very exacting travelers from all over the world. I wonder if the LL folks envisioned such a broad and deep involvement from a new community? I always enjoy catching up on new postings and in asking new questions because I know they will receive thoughtful and knowledgeable replies. Cheers...Marolyn
