Travel in Chareston South Carolina
Returned froma trip to Charelston South Carolina and really enjoyed the Southern Charm of the City. I believe that staying downtown in the historic district was a plus! The Marketplace area was great as was the shopping in this area. Cabs are difficult to come by as you likely won't be able to flag one on the street. Did some of the tours around the historic district (carriage rides), but didn't partake in any plantation tours...perhaps something for next time.

As far as restaurants go, I suppose it all depends on where you're staying and how far you're willing to travel. My experience in Charleston was in the Historic District. There are a lot of great restaurants down that way (I was mostly on the lookout for crab houses myself). I am a fan of the steakhouses too andstopped by the Charleston grill. This restaurant is located in Charleston place (a LL property). This is also one of the top places to stay in Charleston, SC. You can also see pictures ofthe restauranton the LL auction. The maitre'd was very helpful and gave us many tour suggestions. The staff was great and the chef there was fabulous...go check it out!
