I plan to visit the United States sometime next year and I am not entirley sure about which documents are necessary to be allowed to set foot an American soil.

Do I have to apply for a (tourist) visa even if I am only going to stay for two weeks?

You don't state your nationality, but you can go thru that website for rules that pertain to you.
If you qualify, make sure you do all the paperwork correctly and check all details--names spelling, etc, more than once.
