WEST VIRGINIA - MOUNTAIN MAMA
We recently heard about a marvellous-sounding residential investment opportunity on a wooded property near Daniels in Beckley County in the south-west part of the State of West Virginia. If you're familiar with this part of the USA, I'd appreciate any comments/help so we can decide if a two-day car trip from Toronto to the area would be worthwhile. The prospectus looks quite attractive, especially for a recently-retired couple like my wife and I. Looks like the land available for development lies in an attractive part of the Appalachian Mountains surrounded by State and National Parks, an abundance of natural areas, forests, rivers, lakes as well as lots of opportunities for recreation. All of this looks very attractive and we're tempted to head south to take a look for ourselves. But, is it just a lot of sales hype or what?curtiejoe

Re: WEST VIRGINIA - MOUNTAIN MAMA
hej mary-jGlad you survived that fierce storm that lashed a lot of Europe a few days back (or was Scotland spared the brunt of it?). My cousin Rita in Amsterdam said it was 'just horrid!'Yeah, looks like "Almost Heaven" on the investment website. But, I'm a bit wary, cause it looks too good to be true (and sadly often these things end up just that way...). That's why, short of us taking a 500 mile drive to look for ourselves, I wanted to ask LL Community participants who live down in the West Virginia area if they knew of this place near Daniels and if so, what was it like. So far, you're my first response (and you're a lot more than 500 miles away!). Well, we'll see what comes of my 'fishing' excursion in the wilds of Cyberspace! maybe there's a Mountain Mama out there who can enlighten me on this wonderful-sounding residential investment location.curtiejoe
