I love visiting my family in the Orlando area. I also spent my young years in Daytona Beach. We would go 3 times a year. Great memories!!

Living in Florida doesn't preclude being a "tourist" now and then.

The Villas of Grand Cypress (which we have used for 20 years of visits) still offer a wonderful environment for relaxing, especially given the holiday crowds present in Orlando during the holidays.

Baby it's cold outside in Florida too... We are seeing record low temperatures, but this is better than snow....
We love Sarasota, our winter stay for a few months.... hopefully, the cold will subside and warmer temperatures will reappear.

It's the greatest. You feel like you are in the Caribean because the water is blue and the weather is so great, even in the winter. I’ve been twice for New Years and it’s perfect because it’s really relaxed. The party is in the streets because you are allowed to drink in the streets. All the bars do not have cover and you can just bar hop like any normal night without having to pay some high price. The streets are packed with partygoers.
My suggestion is to rent a bicycle to get around the island during the day. It’s so relaxing… :-)

Wow, the Florida tourism board has really been promoting their state recently! I read this and then a week later got my Conde Nast Traveler with a huge section (at least 20 pages) promoting Florida. I think it's wonderful.

My favorite places are the Keys (so laid back and friendly!), Destin, and of course the friendliest place on Earth--Disney/Orlando.
