Daniela,
Thanks for your reply. I did peruse the internet and found a number of interesting sites for Kauai as well, but yours are very good ones. I liked in particular your suggestion of Kauai Sailing Adventures and their amazing vessel, the Southern Star. I am looking more closely into it. Sailing and snorkeling would be right down our alley. I noticed they start their BBQ trip at 8 AM, but we arrive at 7 AM, so it might work. We are sailing mid-January, would there be whale and dolphin sitings that time of the year?
One of the sites mentioned, that when arriving by ship at Kauai, all the cruise ships pass by the
Napali coast.
One favor please, could you check the link for the photos http://www.lovethesepics.com/2012/03...r-adventurers/. It would not open for me.

The link worked just fine for me! I will reattach it though in different form, hoping it might work this time.
Regarding the wild animals, here is some expert advice:
Frommer's "Whale-watching season begins in January and continues through the rest of winter, sometimes lasting into May."
Hawaii Whale Watching Tips
tombarefoot.com "Dolphins are almost unavoidable on Kauai. It has been my experience that they seem to show up almost every time you take a tour on the water, so if you want to see the dolphins, get out on the water."
Ruggedly Beautiful Na Pali Coast: Tropical Paradise for Adventurers [43 PICS]
Looks like you will be there at the right time! Let me know if I can be of more assistance!
