The problem with star rating is that they are often attached to amenities that may me more common in a large hotel or mean nothing to me, i.e. elevator or golf course...

I've only been to Moorea but I have to recommend considering a LL package or any package that offers inclusions, meals, breakfast, activities etc. It is VERY expensive and so the extras do add up.

We went to Tahiti last year and one of the best things you can do is get out of the resort and see the island.
