LL-Travelfan, the changes in the reduction of the value of the VIP certificate make business sense to me. Why continue to give away $500 when you can give away $250 and still get the same results? Why charge $20 handling fee when you can charge $30 or $40 in handling fees?
Why should LL be concerned whether a few existing or prior community members, VIPs or not, get upset over these changes and stay or leave? I've understood from the moment I decided to join and participate in this

Lots of tour companies combine these two if you like going with a tour group - not for me but some folks enjoy it

We've done both, but not in the same trip. Probably doable....but really different experiences and may require an piece of luggage.

Only been in the Peruvian Amazon in June - weather was wonderful in the Puerto Maldonado area - this is the southern part of the Amazon - most of the cruises go to the northern Amazon region of Peru...

Actually, the 'wet' season would be our preference for travel in the Peruvian jungles (we felt the time we spent in the rain forest of Ecuador was greatly enhanced by the frequent rains).
