The journey to Tiamo is an adventure in itself: There’s a 15-minute plane ride from Nassau and a boat ride into a sheltered cove on an island with a rich culture and only 2,000 residents. The paradisiacal beach is perched on the world’s third-largest barrier reef, where the Tongue of the Ocean drops 6,000 feet into underwater landscapes that served as backdrops in James Bond movies. Explore the crystalline waters with the aid of Tiamo’s PADI dive center, or while staying dry in a transparent canoe.

My wife and I had an amazing week at Tiamo. It is truly a tropical paradise! Our beach bungalow with a view of the turquoise water and spectacular sunsets each night was charming and spacious. Above all, though, was the incredible hospitality provided by the general manager, Fred, and his team. Thank you, Team Tiamo! See you next year, or sooner.

This is our 10th visit to Tiamo. We come twice a year now. Fred, the manager, and his entire staff treat us like royalty and we feel like family at the same time. We particularly like the separate cottages and the size of the resort. Tiamo is quiet, relaxing and soothing. Activities can be arranged but we simply like to relax, read, listen to music and see/hear the ocean. The accent is on old Caribbean but all the amenities. The food was outstanding prepared by the chefs Alex and Rene. Housekeeping by Reynaldo was twice a day and perfect. Luis took excellent care of our pool and grounds. John and Ron gave excellent food/bar service and anticipated our every need. Fred, manager, has become a wonderful friend and sees that everything is done right.

This is a wonderful resort to go to when you want to completely relax. The beach is very nice and very private. There are lots of activities to do. The food and service was top notch.

We had a great time. The food was good, the staff excellent on all counts. Accommodation was not massively luxurious but stylish, comfortable and clean. This is a small, exclusive and remote resort, only accessible by boat and right on the beach with no other hotels, restaurants or people near by. It is right on the beach with a beautiful outlook to the sea. Great for stargazing, snorkeling, diving, and fishing - particularly bone fishing. We had a great guide who helped us to catch plenty of bone fish even though we have never tried this type of fishing before. Would recommend booking a guide direct rather than via the resort as would be cheaper. We also went on a bush walking safari led by a lovely and knowledgeable guide - Barbara, and included a swim in one of the famous blue holes. This was a beautiful and unique experience with not one other tourist or local in sight! The only negative were the sandflies that are prevalent on the island, but we strictly followed the managers bite avoidance advice and didn't have any problems with bites. Take lots of insect spray, antihistamines and coverup at night. Overall, I would highly recommend this quiet, unique and exclusive resort if you want a relaxing holiday with some adventurous activities and the best sleeps you'll ever have.

Tiamo is a special property in a very unique location. The staff was outstanding and focused on insuring their customers experienced all that the area and The Tiamo resort had to offer.

We stayed at the beautiful Tiamo for a long weekend. It was a surprise gift and could not have been a better one. Our hosts met us at the arrival boat and it was the beginning of a truly pampering experience. Every one of the staff were friendly, fun and conscientious. Although many guests enjoy the resort as a base for bonefishing, we thought that their other watersport equipment was top notch and had fun with the paddle boards and clear kayaks in particular. The water is filled with wildlife and the overall feel of the resort is (very) quiet luxury. Between the palm trees, white sand, conch, ray and sea turtle-filled turquoise waters, this is quite the place. The food offerings are lovely to look at and delicious too. And we are foodies...my only comment would be to change up breakfast a bit. Continental offerings seem slightly out of place in such an environment – it would have been more interesting and delicious to have homemade muffins or similar treats rather than average croissants etc. All in all, it was hardly a reason to complain and leaving Tiamo is very, very difficult to do!

I spent an amazing weekend with my husband at Tiamo… We enjoyed all activities proposed, and especially the transparent canoe and the scuba diving in a blue hole. There are a lot of different wonderful and colorful fish and it's really a good experience to dive there. The team of Tiamo is very welcoming and the Chef cooks delicious meals every day. I highly recommend Tiamo for a quiet and amazing weekend!
