Insider Tips From The Editors Of
travel + leisureDriving in Bali - This isn’t recommended, unless you’re very brave and already have an international driver’s license (if you don’t, you’ll need to stand in line for approximately two days in downtown Denpasar to apply for one, or get one through AAA before your trip). Also, the roads in Bali have no clearly enforced rules, and drivers are color-blind to signal lights. Better to speak with your hotel concierge about arranging a car and driver for the day.
When to go to Bali - Although there’s really no bad time to visit, the months between April and September pair gorgeous, hot, clear weather with shoulder-season prices. October to March is considered the rainy season—but that usually just means an afternoon shower or two.
