Red Mountain Resort's generous amount of advanced and intermediate ski runs pretty much defines its character. Home to the Red Mountain Racers who have won a number of Olympic and World Cup awards, Red Mountain is popular with experienced and semi-experienced skiers who want to excel. That's not to say it isn't a great place to start out – Red has some great classes and clinics tailored to beginning skiers and snowboarders of all ages.

Red Mountain's notoriety dates back more than a century, to Scandinavian gold seekers who arrived to to not only find riches, but an ideal venue for skiing. And right they were. Today its 88 groomed runs, 6 lifts, and 2,919 feet/ 880 meters of vertical drop represent 1,685 skiable acres spread over two mountain faces. Guests can Alpine or Nordic ski or snowboard, heliski or enjoy an escape in a backcountry tour in the Monashee Mountains. Close to Rossland, B.C., it's a convenient stop from Washington, Idaho or other resorts in the Canadian Rockies such as Fernie, about 4 hours away.
