We had an amazing stay at Villa Selva Mar. The views were phenomenal and the cool breezes on the mountain kept us super comfortable. The Bali/Japanese/Tico fusion design of the house is quite interesting and peaceful. The space is super quiet with the only sounds being the songs of the birds and whispers of insects. We loved the family of Toucans that were living right above our heads. And to top it all off, the onsite staff was perfect - only there when we needed them. Thank you!

Paradise found! This place is simply magical! We loved our stay at this property. In perfect harmony with its surroundings, this property truly combines luxury with nature. The home is wonderfully appointed with comfortable beds, quality linens and subtle touches of elegance throughout. Each morning we were awakened by the sounds of howler monkeys in the nearby trees and the sight of blue morpho butterflies floating by our bedroom window. In the afternoon we lounged by the pool watching the toucans play in the trees. The most amazing experience during our stay occurred while sipping our morning coffee on the beautiful deck overlooking the Pacific Ocean - a pair of black hawk eagles flying wing tip to wing tip swooped up through the trees and flew by my chair, close enough to touch them! I felt truly fortunate to have seen not one but two of these rare birds!

Latin American magical realism comes to life at Villa Selva Mar. At first glance and for days afterwards you will look around and say and think to yourself... this cannot be real! So beautiful is the house and setting they defy description. The view off the deck of the Pacific and Whale's Tail is otherworldly.
