Say Aloha to Hawaii
Hula dancing. Luaus. World-famous beaches. Pearl Harbor. The road to Hana. Hawaii is, perhaps, the most iconic of the United States. The 50th state, Hawaii is an archipelago of eight volcanic islands recognized for beautiful beaches, beautiful climate, and beautiful experiences.
While you simply can't go wrong in visiting any of the Hawaiian islands, Kauai is the least developed of the big four (Oahu, Maui, the Big Island of Hawaii, and Kauai).
Kauai is dotted with natural wonders such as Waimea Canyon (the "Grand Canyon of Hawaii"), the Spouting Horn, where waves force water through a natural lava tube to spark a legendary spray, and exquisite remote beaches. To complement the great outdoors, the island also hosts unique cultural festivals.
The fall Kauaʻi Mokihana Festival features hula competitions, musical performances, and cultural workshops that celebrate local culture. The Eō E ʻEmalani I Alaka‘i Festival in Kōkeʻe State Park honors Queen Emma’s 1871 horseback journey across the Alaka‘i Swamp with a reenactment of the arrival, hula and lei making, local food, and more. And the Waimea Town Celebration, the island's oldest festival, is eight glorious days of theater, spam eating competitions, concerts, and Kauai traditions.
While Kauai maintains a low-key vibe, the island also has some of the best 5-star resorts and hotels in Hawaii, offering tropical luxury, stunning views, and a wonderful place to rest, explore, and celebrate the best of Hawaii.
