If Royal Pita Maha feels unusually regal, there is good reason. This divine retreat is owned and managed by the royal family of Ubud, in Southeast Bali. With their lush landscaping, the Royal House, Royal Villas and Pool Villas are gracefully integrated into the setting of sweeping rice terraces, river gorges and tropical woodlands. Fodor's declares the accommodations "tastefully luxurious," and you will agree as you relish your own pool with views of the Ayung River and an overwhelming oneness with nature in this place of reflection, healing and serenity.

We spent our honeymoon at The Royal Pita Maha, and it was magical. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles, and the most breathtaking view of the jungle valley—we instantly knew we had chosen the perfect place. The staff made our stay truly special. They surprised us with flower arrangements on the bed, honeymoon cakes.. Every interaction felt sincere and thoughtful—like we were being looked after by family. Breakfasts were generous, fresh, and served with a view that made every morning feel like a celebration. The on-site restaurant was peaceful and romantic, perfect for slow dinners under the stars. If you’re looking for a honeymoon that feels intimate, luxurious, and deeply connected to nature and culture—this is it. The Royal Pita Maha gave us memories we’ll carry forever. It’s not just a resort, it’s a love story waiting to happen.

LOVED it here! First, you should know that it is around 20 football fields in size, and it is built into the side of a steep hill. You can - and should - let yourself get wondrously lost in the winding staircases - and a surprise elevator tower - in the middle of a jungle. Every room is a private pool villa, most with spectacular views into the river canyon below. The main restaurant is fine dining quality, the breakfast buffet is excellent, and the riverside lunch cafe is a place to sip cocktails while you watch whitewater rafters paddling by. Maybe you will step aside as a monkey makes his way to the on-site temple or sacred bathing pool. There is even a family-friendly "lazy river" where the kids can paddle their inflatable raft. There are 75 villas and 365 staff! The owner extends health insurance to up to 3 members of each employee's family - so your stay is helping to support up to 1,000 locals.

Upfront experience was a shocker with high headed and arrogant reception staff... less mannerful n stubborn, it spoilt the taste of being there, it included a male as well as female staff , on too different occasions, such arrogance n less welcoming attitude has rarely been experienced in my travel to over 40 countries, worldwide, including US & UK. Hotel is scenic n located in beautiful surroundings. River flowing at the base is ultimate experience. Cottages are just average and highly overpriced. Only solace , beautiful surroundings. Dining and spa staff was very polite and courteous, but reception blew it up, both times. They really need to train the reception staff. Check out time cab, they called from taxi stand and loaded it with additional 2 million rupaiah indonesian hotel commission ! Never witnessed before. Overall, although in beautiful surroundings, it is highly overpriced, limited cuisine, arrogant reception. Would not like to go there again.

Royal Pita Maha was by far the highlight of our accommodations in Bali. The grounds were beautiful and the rooms graciously appointed. A perfect evening was spent on our villa balcony sipping a lovely sauvignon blanc as the sun slipped away behind the resort and a cool breeze reminded us of why we prefer the inland mountains to the coast. The staff was friendly, attentive and professional. They truly went above and beyond to assure that we will return to Ubud and Royal Pita Maha again.

We just returned from Bali and during our trip we stayed four nights at the Royal Pita Maha using a package we purchased through Luxury Link. What a fabulous place! Not only are the accommodations first class, but the service is outstanding. We've traveled all over the world and this is one of the best places we've ever stayed.

Royal Pita Maha in Bali was an amazing experience. The property is one of the most stunning we have ever experienced. The rooms are very large villas and each have a private infinity pool. The service was impeccable - the staff was warm, gentle and so attentive. Yoga by the river was so special. We spent almost 2 days just exploring the property. The grounds were stunning, food was wonderful and spa was the finest treatments we have ever enjoyed. The spa area is very private and takes place in a two story villa, a great couples retreat. Can't say enough good things about the property. Luxury Link visitors were considered very special and the extra services and amenities were a delight.
