Interview with Fairmont Copley Plaza Director of Public Relations Suzanne Wenz
Q) What makes a guest’s experience at Fairmont Copley Plaza unique?
A) One thing guests love is our history. We have been in the heart of Boston for over 100 years. Much of the architecture has been preserved, which is admired by our guests. In fact, when we were recently renovating, we pulled the carpet and underneath were the mosaic tiles laid in 1912 when the hotel was built. Rather than continuing with the original renovation plan, we were able to restore the tiles to their original grandeur.
Q) What makes Boston's Back Bay attractive as a vacation destination?
A) We are in a great location, and Boston is a walking city. Whether you want to go to Fenway Park or the Freedom Trail, many of these attractions are very accessible. The property is also located in a residential and business district of Boston, making it in a energetic and vibrant part of the city.
Q) What aspects of the Fairmont Copley Plaza are truly luxurious?
A) The guest rooms were re-done as a part of the recent renovations, during which we hired an artist to paint scenes of Boston that are hung in guest rooms. In many of the rooms, we have very deep window sills with cushions where you can sit and enjoy incredible views of the city. I also love the reading lights built into the headboards.
