Runaway

Ritz Carlton prices for a motel 6 experience. No water for a day, goose crap all over pathway to room that services rolled my bags through, ac turned off at night, windows filthy, cob webs everywhere, no tapas menu as advertised, pool filthy, activities not staffed. Only positive was a staff member Dave who was bartender, server, and probably dishwasher. Way understaffed. Totally unacceptable

Just An Honest Review

The ranch is beautiful, the surrounding landscape is breathtaking, the staff was extremely friendly but lots of confusions, lack of understanding communication about amenities etc, I do understand there’s been alot of recent management changes. Not really the experience I was expecting for the price. The Horseback tour with Jordan was phenomenal! Our favorite part of the stay.

Absolutley worth it!

The photos of this Ranch do not compare to the actual experience. It is just beautiful. We had a guided hike and UTV tour with Everett and Tate, they were so much fun! Jordan and Jasmin with the barn were wonderful to chat with and the ride we went on showed off the breathtaking views all around the property. We were nervous about dinner with some recent comments but only experienced exceptional meals. Breakfast with Erik was relaxing and delicious with dinner being such a treat and flavor spot on. Every staff member was out of their way friendly and willing to take care of anything you needed. We will absolutely be back again!

Poor Experience and Hotel Management.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Our stay at Sorrel River Ranch on May 10–11, 2026 was extremely disappointing, especially considering the resort markets itself as a luxury experience at roughly $1,000 per night. From the start, basic amenities and services were lacking — no s’mores because they had no chocolate, goose droppings all over the walkways, an understaffed bar and restaurant with very slow service, and multiple menu items unavailable. The most serious issue occurred Tuesday morning when the entire resort lost water service: no showers, non-functioning toilets, and no food or beverage service. The Mercantile, advertised as a convenient option for hiking supplies and snacks, was inexplicably closed both days. When we asked management what accommodations would be made for guests, we were essentially told we were “on our own.” The front desk employee was polite but clearly not equipped to handle the situation, and the manager was unreachable despite repeated calls and voicemails over the following week. Only after we contacted American Express to dispute the charges did the resort suddenly issue a partial refund late at night. Unexpected issues can happen anywhere, but the lack of preparation, communication, accountability, and basic guest support made this one of the worst resort experiences we’ve had.

Dreadful

Called and made Reservations for Mother’s Day Breakfast and they suggested 10 am for breakfast. We arrived at 9:45 am and they said they are closed. Only one other couple in restaurant. Only other option for food was premade sandwiches in Gift shop that cost $17.00 a sandwich. They heated them, but the middle was still cold. Person at counter was new and not very friendly, man at front desk was friendly but looked like he was intoxicated. I would never recommend this place.
