Having returned from visiting India and the neighbouring countries for the last four weeks staying at various top hotels, The Imperial in New Delhi stands out as simply and by far the best hotel at which I have stayed on my entire journey. The hotel itself is a magnificent Art Déco gem and serves as a tranquil haven full of history in the middle of New Delhi, only a short walk from ever bustling Connaught Place. While the entire hotel breathes the air of the glamourous 1930ies, it is still equipped with all amenities of the 21st century. The pool and spa are particularly worth being highlighted as they are both wonderful retreats for relaxation after a day full of adventures in the capital. The actual rooms are very spacious, impeccably clean -- as is the rest of the entire compound -- and have extremely comfortable beds. The breakfast offers a wide variety of Indian and international food, and the very attentive staff is always there to respond to your wishes with a genuine smile on their faces while maintaining their old school professional attitude. Of the many restaurants at the hotel, I tried the Spice Route with its impressive artistic decor and immediately fell in love with their food which is a blend of Indian and South-East Asian dishes. Despite the plethora of restaurant choices around the hotel, the food at the Spice Route was so good and of such a high quality that I returned twice during my stay. However, the most important feature and main asset of The Imperial is its staff. Literally everybody, from head concierge to the guardsmen at the entry of the compound show a degree of professionalism, helpfulness, and genuine, unbiased friendliness that one rarely encounters in hotels these days anymore. I was assisted with every little or more challenging wish I had throughout my stay. Everybody goes at The Imperial goes the extra mile to make the stay of their guests a truly exceptional and memorable experience! To sum up, I can wholeheartedly recommend The Imperial to any traveler who wants to experience the luxury of a long bygone era taken to the 21st century. As far as I am concerned, I'll definitely be back with my family!

I had a fantastic 8 night stay at the Imperial. Everything about my stay was perfect. The staff are incredible and made me feel very welcome and relaxed at all times. Breakfast was amazing, so much choice and beautiful surroundings to enjoy a lovely start to your day. The pool area is a tranquil oasis. Such a relaxing area that is well tended to by lovely staff. I would highly recommend a stay at the Imperial. I can’t wait to go back.
