Reviews for Villa Crespi

RUDEST EXPERIENCE EVER!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

After reading so many positive reviews here and elsewhere, my husband and I traveled to Orta from our nearby hotel with the express purpose of seeing Villa Crespi to make a dinner reservation for later this week and see the property to consider for a future stay. As we walked through the gates to approach the entrance, an employee (perhaps security?) ran up, wagged his finger and ordered us to leave. I tried to approach him to explain our interest but he refused to talk to me and chased us away. My husband and I are in our 60’s and were well-dressed, but he treated us like hooligans who were trying to crash a royal wedding. Over the years I have stayed at many Relais & Chateau properties all around the world, both for business and personal travel, where I have always appreciated the gracious hospitality, so was especially shocked by this hostility.

An amazing stay in an iconic place

The villa is truly a stunning property with historical design. The location of the villa is near to the lake and the property boats sprawling gardens where you can spend the afternoons with a Spritz or glass of wine. The rooms are traditionally prepared - truly felt like a princess staying here. Needless to say, the breakfast was to die for!

Beautiful to see but I wouldn’t stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Hotel was beautiful and the staff was amazing but not having a proper shower in the room or properly working AC was terrible. A tub with a handheld shower without even a way to clip the handheld up over head. The AC in the room was not even close to adequate. The staff was extremely nice and helpful.

Horrible Experience and really bad customer service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 months ago

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I am from Brazil, my name is Paola Crespi, my original family ancestors is from the Villa. I had been waiting in the “waiting list” for a week with no response trying to get at reservation in the restaurant. I tried calling, messaging, and emailing but no one reached out to me.. I decided to go there just to get to know the place and I was hoping to get a place to sit down and eat something with my family, the receptionist were EXTREMELY RUDE they said there was no way for me and my family to eat and I had to leave there immediately, I expected that I wasn’t gonna be able to eat since I didn’t have a reservation, I was hopping to take a look around the property and see the building and they didn’t let me look around and eventually in a very RUDE way escorted me out of the inside of the building. The receptionists were very ignorant and the costumer service was HORRIBLE. I was very upset with the situation because I came all the way from Brazil with my husband + 2 kids expecting to have a great experience and I ended up being extremely mistreated.

Excellent hotel although we were only here a short night. The restaurant was closed so they sent us to Michelin star sister hotel du lax. Phenomenal. Food excellent service top notch h. Richard st front desk checked us in and took good care of us . Our room was very large and comfortable overlooking lake. The sheets were best I’ve ever felt true Italian linen. Old world for sure but very comfortable. We had welcome drinks in the cute bar before heading to dinner at du lac. Would stay again it was wonderful . Sorry we didn’t get to stay longer. We stayed night before heading to airport which was 1 hr away. Loved it.

We recently returned from Villa Crespi in Lake Orta. It was a gorgeous Moorish castle and we had a lavishly decorated, beautifully appointed suite. The staff was exceptionally attentive, and we had the best meal we may ever have eaten! Outstanding. We would highly recommend this hotel.
