Samoset Resort On The Ocean

The Samoset Report is our go to for a weekend getaway, or for the whole week. From the surf and turf to the sweeping views--it's really the only place we stay when we are in the area.

I normally don’t write reviews , but my husband and I spent two days at this fine resort this past week. Samoset has become a tradition in my family . For a half dozen summers, our entire family would spend a week at your resort , three generations, parents , grandparents , and grandchildren. We have so many fond memories of family golf, shuffleboard competitions , golf cart tours , lobster dinners just to name a few . This past weeks stay again did not disappoint. We celebrated my husbands 70th birthday . Your personnel is top notch , A sincere thank you to Ginger at the front desk , for all the special arrangements to acknowledge this milestone birthday . She really knows how to make guests feel special . The room was perfect , and the view of Penobscot Bay , such a treat Thank you to the server Danica in food and beverage for a delightful breakfast , and to Dalton in the golf shop . We had forgotten to pack our clubs and Dalton was more than happy to outfit us with clubs and a cart to just hit balls on the driving range . If it was possible , I would have given Samoset 6 stars Best regards , Faith

We have been coming to The Samoset for many years, and it never disappoints. If the view, or the amenities, or the golf course, or the food, or the ambience, or the people don’t do it for you, the outstanding service most certainly will. If you’ve never been to this resort you have no idea what you are missing. Under the brilliant guidance of the GM, Samoset runs like a charm, like a well oiled machine. There is nothing about Samoset that isn’t first class. Take a dip in the indoor pool and hot tub, play a round on their championship golf course, stay in one of their magnificent rooms, have a drink at the Enoteca Lounge, eat a 5 star meal at La Bella Vita, or walk the spectacular breakwater. Samoset has it all, and it’s all first grade. Spend a night - I guarantee you’ll want to spend more.

Such an amazing property! The views speak for themselves but the staff and environment truly make this a beautiful, serene, and relaxing experience! We traveled down for a hockey tournament that happened to land on Valentine’s Day. The staff made us feel truly welcomed and the kids had an absolute blast! The staff even went above and beyond to make sure we had a space available to watch the men’s USA hockey game together as a team! We can’t express it enough how special this resort is to us! Even in the “off” season!

We spent the weekend with the kids. The staff was wonderful and welcoming. The rooms were comfortable and clean. They attended to our needs and even set up an Olympic watch party for. Will definitely be back.
