Probably the best hotel in the area. We stayed for two nights in this lovely boutique hotel. The views of the three volcanoes across the lake are amazing especially from the pool set high on the hill above the main property. Great food and friendly service.

We’ve just returned from a holiday in Guatemala and this hotel was undoubtedly the highlight of the several hotels we stayed in during the trip. Our room was in a separate building to the main hotel, situated a little further up the hill from the main building, but the (175) extra steps were definitely worth it for the even better views from our room - although the ones from the main hotel are still breathtaking! On top of this, the room itself was lovely, great size, tastefully decorated and with the some lovely touches including a bath on the terrace, spectacular views from the shower etc. The food was especially good with a good mix of local and international dishes and they served me the best gin and tonic I’ve had for years. This hotel is a must try if you are staying on Lake Atitlan.

My husband and I recently had the most marvelous experience at Casa Palopó! We stayed for a magical two and a half days. Our suite was beyond comfortable and gorgeously decorated with spectacular views of Lake Atitlán. We sunbathed and swam in the beautiful infinity pool, whilst gazing at the distant volcanoes. The staff were excellent, with such attention given to detail, and such warmth given to the service. The food was truly exquisite and every meal a culinary delight. We had the privilege of seeing the new restaurant that is being opened by the water and know that it will only add to the allure of Casa Palopó, We cannot wait to return to this gem on Lake Atitlan.

Great view. 3 volcanos visible. Hiumming birds in flowers over the dining tables Good food and decent wine. Boat trip on lake was experience – very bouncy in afternoon on way back but was interesting to go around the town with a local. Although its relaix and chateaux it’s a service level a bit below others we have been to – but given where it is that’s not a huge surprise Only downside was we were in suite at top of hill – the suite was lovely and spacious with great views. It was 175 steps to room and I mean steps up- reviews had suggested golf buggy available but never was, staff were not interested when we asked about it – so if you were not fit it would be a challenge.

We stayed 3 nights in this lovely hotel. Santa Clara has a great balcony with fabulous lake views of the volcanoes. It’s a great base to visit the Lakes. Food is pricey but good and is on a beautiful terrace. Staff are friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed our stay here.
