The Oberoi Udaivilas, Udaipur

Hi Oberoi Team, It was my anniversary and I booked dinner at your restaurant Mewar by Vineet. While I called in to book table for 3 (couple and 2 year old toddler) I clearly mentioned my purpose of dinner and asked if you can arrange for my drop at Lake Palace and also if it is chargeable. Reply from Oberoi reservation team was that yes, they can arrange my drop by boat only till 10 PM. After that, Taj will have to send their boat. If Oberoi arranges my drop, it is not chargeable. Now the dinner was over and your team had confusion which led to utter disappointment and turned my special dinner into a substandard experience. I had no problems if you wanted me to wait at reception for a longer duration, but keeping me waiting at the pier with no boat arrangement and guards running around to confirm whether Taj would send a boat was pathetic and scary for my toddler as it was dark and bats were flying low. How do you justify such a security lapse and miscommunication at your end? I called your front office number and nobody picked up. At the same time, my husband called Taj to send a boat and it hardly took 3 minutes to take us back to our hotel. I am so thankful that I did not book Oberoi for my stay if this dinner experience could scar my memory for a lifetime. Mewar’s food and cocktails were amazing. My baby enjoyed and loved every bit of it. However the vibe was cold. P.S. - My initial review on Tripadvisor was deleted due to account problem so, reposting it. While Tilak from your team did reach us to apologise and asked us to revisit for sundowner or dinner. I am surprised that you think my family's security is negotiable with a free drink or dinner? Since we are humans and mistakes/blunders happen. Please do not think otherwise when it comes to my family. Damage is done. Also your intentions to rectify it made it worse.

What an amazing resort! We stayed for three nights with our family of four while visiting from the United States. The hotel is on par with the finest luxury resorts in the United States and around the world. The food was excellent, and the lakeside pavilion dinner was truly unforgettable. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting the property. All of the staff were warm, professional, and attentive. In particular, our driver, Mr. Prathvi and our guide, Mr. Abhijeet Singh, were exceptionally kind and took great care of us during our visits to the Srinathji and Eklingji temples. Our experience at the Srinathji Temple was simply amazing, and I would strongly recommend it to anyone seeking a spiritual and cultural experience. I would also like to thank the resort photographer, Mr. Ansal, who did a wonderful job capturing our family photographs throughout the property. The pictures turned out beautifully, and I would highly recommend his services to other guests looking to create lasting memories of their stay. Overall, our stay exceeded expectations, and we would definitely return in the future. Special thanks to the General Manager, Mr. Malhotra, who was also very gracious and welcoming throughout our stay. Keep up the excellent work, and thank you for a memorable experience.

If you ever want to experience Magic, I'd recommend staying at the Oberoi's in Udaipur. Somethings can't be explained in words and need to be experienced. Breathtaking views, unparalleled hospitality and amazing food.
