I enjoyed three nights in the beautiful Beaconsfield Inn, just a short walk from Victoria's Inner Harbor. The staff was truly welcoming, the building beautiful and we were pampered, fed, informed and entertained our entire visit. For anyone planning a visit to Victoria and looking for a cozier, intimate and friendly setting, you couldn't do better than the Beaconsfield. The dinner at Matisse turned out to be one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. All in all, a stellar luxury weekend! I'd go back in a heartbeat. -M. Unger

Beaconsfield Inn
Victoria, British Columbia
Let the serene beauty of the Pacific Northwest sweep you away, the relaxing atmosphere of British Columbia calm your senses, and the elegance of classical English style assure your every comfort at Beaconsfield Inn. With its distinguished Edwardian design and quiet, unassuming location, this fabulous inn just outside of downtown provides an authentic taste of Victoria. Nine charming suites blend antique elegance and contemporary sophistication with an ornate design that incorporates polished dark wood period furniture, stained glass windows, and a deep, royal color palette. French doors lead out to a private patio, while separate picture windows provide ample light. After a day in the great outdoors soak in the marvelous whirlpool tub, recline next to the fireplace to warm your soul, and drift off to sleep in plush four-poster beds.
Wake to a delightful breakfast each morning, served in the breakfast room or conservatory, before venturing out to explore the lush coastal wonderland that is Victoria. Head out on the open ocean on a whale watching tour, spotting orcas, greys, and even humpbacks, or enjoy an afternoon of deep sea fishing in the cold, abundant northern Pacific. Experience the scenic southern coast gliding through the waters in a canoe, and hike along the Galloping Goose Trail following the Strait of Juan De Fuch in East Sooke Regional Park. Climb to the pinnacle of Mt. Finlayson in Goldstream Provincial Park, and take a sunny afternoon to mountain bike through the lush trails of Mt. Work Regional Park before cooling off with a dip in the Durrance or Fork Lakes. Return to visit Butchart Gardens, the vast botanical gardens that have bloomed since 1904, and learn the fascinating history of the area at the Royal BC Museum. Wander through historic Market Square, on the border of the vibrant LoJo fashion district, and find the perfect café for an afternoon snack. For the perfect taste of Victoria, head to the Inner Harbour area, where Pescatores Seafood & Grill presents amazing fresh seafood, an enticing oyster bar, and perfectly grilled steaks.
