The Oberoi Rajvilas, Jaipur

Our time at The Oberoi Rajvilās was truly unforgettable — and I want to begin by mentioning Ashok, our wonderful chauffeur. A gentle, kind Rajasthani gentleman, Ashok drove us between all three Oberoi hotels — from Delhi to Agra, then on to Jaipur, and finally back to Delhi. We also arranged for him to take us out a few times while we were in Jaipur, and his thoughtful care, safe driving, and local knowledge made a huge difference to our experience. He showed us the city not just as a driver, but as someone proud of his home. Ashok was such an integral part of the special holiday for us, celebrating my husband’s 50th birthday and our son’s first visit to India. The arrival at Rajvilās itself was breathtaking. As we walked through the grand entrance doors, we were showered with rose petals — we felt like royalty arriving! Each time we returned to the hotel, we were handed a pretty parasol to shade us from the warm Rajasthani sun as we walked back to the front door — such a thoughtful and elegant touch. We were lucky enough to have one of our rooms upgraded to include a private garden, which we absolutely loved. On our first afternoon, after arriving from Agra, we had a late lunch out there — a quiet room service meal surrounded by birdsong and the occasional peacock wandering past! The grounds themselves are truly exquisite — full of beautiful birds, peacocks and such an incredible sense of calm. It’s so peaceful you almost forget you’re in the heart of busy India. One evening we visited the 300-year-old Hindu temple that the property is built around and received a blessing there. It was such a grounding, spiritual experience and one we’ll always remember. Evenings here were magical. Dining in the courtyard by torchlight, with traditional music and dancing, was just incredible. We also visited the bar every evening before dinner — it has such a lovely ambience, and we really enjoyed sitting there as a family, chatting and playing cards. Dharam and Golu always made us feel so welcome and looked after us beautifully. One evening we also had the pleasure of meeting Lucky the resident puppeteer, whose skills were absolutely phenomenal - so creative and full of charm. The show was a joy to watch, for both of us as adults and our teenage sons. Lucky himself is a truly warmhearted gentleman and speaking with him was just as lovely as watching his performance. Our rooms were kept immaculate throughout our stay thanks to Mitul from housekeeping, who introduced herself early on and took wonderful care of us. She was sensitive to our routine and timings, always thoughtful and kind. The restaurant team were outstanding. As vegetarians, we often requested dishes not even listed on the menu, and nothing was ever too much trouble. The food was fresh, flavourful and exactly what we needed. We’d especially like to thank Nandini, Rushi, Heeba, Ashna, Sunny, and Rajat, the trainee chef, for their warmth and attentiveness throughout. There was another lovely lady from the restaurant whose name has a Sanskrit meaning, and I wish I could remember — she was also so kind and welcoming. Sitaram, the friendly buggy driver, became another familiar and kind face during our stay. He often took us around the resort and was always smiling and happy to help. There’s a large team working at Rajvilās, and we noticed how genuinely friendly everyone was. We were always greeted with smiles and “namaste”s as we walked around the grounds — small gestures that made a big impression. The swimming pool was another highlight — peaceful, clean, and incredibly relaxing. There’s something about Rajvilās that’s hard to put into words. It’s elegant, peaceful, and full of soul. Every detail — from the rose petal welcome to the parasols, the blessing at the temple, and the nightly entertainment — made us feel part of something truly special. On our departure, Mr. Virmani, the General Manager, came to wave us off in person — a gesture we found incredibly touching. Several other members of the team came outside holding signs saying “Come back soon” and “We’ll miss you.” It was such a warm and emotional farewell and summed everything we had felt during our stay. The care, grace and attentiveness of the entire team here is a reflection of the thoughtful leadership behind the scenes. We left with full hearts and memories we’ll treasure always — we absolutely cannot wait to return.

Absolutely fabulous! Beautiful grounds! Delicious food in the restaurant. Staff could not do enough for us, especially after a forgotten special event. They went above and beyond and made the occasion even more special for my sister. The pool was a tiny bit tired but in such beautiful grounds and fantastic service it didn’t matter. Beautiful peacocks strutting around made it even more beautiful

Out stay was amazing. Very good food and atmosphere. Amazonce personel. We enjoyed swimming pool, spa, restaurant. We really enjoyed service of Mitul, who was really kind and helpful whole stay. We also consider comming back. Out feelings are very positive.

We have just returned from India having spent 6 nights at Rajvilas- We have been visiting this hotel for many years and every visit is incredible. This time was a milestone birthday for my husband and I think every member of staff contributed in some way towards the celebration and created a very memorable event. The hotel itself is beautiful set in the most magnificent grounds with apparently 120 peacocks- the only noise you hear is birdsong. The choice and quality of the food is some of the best we ate during our 3 weeks and the Chefs are delighted to explain dishes and recipes. The whole team of staff from housekeeping, restaurant and front of house are engaging , friendly and caring. The staff are the stars they couldn’t do enough for us . This is a truly magical place .

The Hotel was a delight from the moment we got of the staff were so welcoming and efficient, The restaurant staff were so engaging and went the extra step every time with a smile. Our room was fantastic qnd overall the facilities pool gym were superb.
