Reviews for Sundance Mountain Resort

The Inn at Sundance continues a legacy of world-class service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 15 hours ago

WOW! There's my one-word review. The facilities at Sundance are beautiful and inviting; however, it's the people who bring the warmth. Sundance understands the value of its people. In turn, Sundance's people understand the value of each other and their guests. From the valet to the front desk staff to the myriad team members who served us during our stay (shoutout to the lifties, maintenance crew, and ski patrol members who make it all happen on the mountain), everyone was tuned into us and our experience. Thank you for making our getaway remarkable and extremely memorable!

Magical Sundance Mountain Resort and Inn

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

My wife Laurie and I had an exceptional maiden stay at the Sundance Mountain Resort and specifically experiencing the new Inn! From the moment we arrived, it seemed as if the staff was always one step ahead--calling us by name and scheduling resort activities at a moments notice. Location, location, location comes to mind as I don't know a ski resort in the U.S. where one can access skiing steps from one's room and five minutes up valley be wading with expert angling guide on blue ribbon Upper Provo river where I caught a 18" rainbow--in January no less! The next day we took advantage of the resort's miles of snow shoeing and cross skiing trails with expert guides as well. Apres physical activities include the well appointed spa (sauna, hot spring pools) as well as message therapists--the resort has left no stone unturned in presenting a 5 star experience for couples and/or families alike. As far as F&B deliverables, the resort offers a wide variety only steps away from the Inn. Perhaps the coolest bar in the west, The Owl Bar (which Redford curated from Wyoming--rumor suggests) is the highlight and is perfect apres anything. The Michelin (or soon to be) star Tree room actually has a tree in the middle of the intimate and warm/comfortable setting--serving up an extensive menu and wine list plus resort themed cocktails. Note: ensure someone in your party orders the Buffalo Short Ribs--they're amazingly delicious as the meat falls right off the bone.

The Inn at Sundance Resort

My wife and I recently stayed two nights at the new Sundance Inn, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. Every member of the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. After checking in, we were given a quick tour of the facility. Our room was very clean, comfortable, and beautifully designed, with the added touch of a mountain stream right next to our patio. We had dinner at both the Tree Room and Foundry Grill, and both were excellent. If you’ve never had the Tree Room Pepper Steak, try it, it’s one of the best steaks I’ve ever had! One of our favorite spots was the “Living Room” at the Inn. The views were truly jaw-dropping, and the complimentary offerings were a great touch, especially the creamy hot chocolate with marshmallows browned right at our table. We also loved the nostalgic photos and memorabilia of Robert Redford and early Sundance throughout the Inn. Waking up next to the beautiful mountains and ski hill was something special. This was our first stay at the Inn, and it definitely exceeded our expectations. We couldn’t have asked for a better weekend. Sundance is a special place. Highly recommend!

Wonderful Stay at the Inn at Sundance Resort

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We loved our stay at The Inn at Sundance last month. The facility had just opened, and we were very impressed with the lodging and the staff. Our room was extremely comfortable and well-designed. The decor was beautiful and fit the cozy surroundings. The room was quite spacious with a balcony, a wide window seat that could serve as a child's bed, and a small table. The bed was very comfy, and the bathroom and fixtures are elegant. There was space near the entry door to hang ski clothes and place boots under a bench. One of my favorite things about the room was the luggage storage under the bed and window seat! The fitness center isn't particularly large, but it's excellent. Yoga and other classes are offered. The boot/ski room is downstairs on the slope side of The Inn and made it extremely convenient to boot up and step outside, walk up a few steps, and step right onto the snow with the lift only steps away. Perhaps the highlight of the Inn is the Living Room, where breakfast and then, throughout the day coffee, hot chocolate, and snacks are served. The space is full of tables and has a fireplace and couches that all look out onto the lift, ski slopes, and the majestic Mt. Timpanogos. The restaurants in the base area adjacent to The Inn are excellent. We had a very elegant meal in the Tree Room one evening and a delicious dinner in the Foundry Grill the next night. The little village includes a number of great amenities, including an outdoor spa area called, I think, the Springs that has several hot tubs and a wood sauna. There is also a lot of investment going into the mountain experience (skiing and snowboarding) with some new lifts and enhanced amenities already in place and more, it seems, going in over the next few years. The natural setting is honestly one of the most beautiful spots in Utah. We have hiked Mt. Timpanogos in the summer and enjoyed seeing the lakes, waterfalls and, yes, mountain goats in what is truly an Alpine setting. Everything at the resort reflects the design aesthetic implemented by Robert Redford and the Sundance Institute, which really gives the entire resort a great feel. And the staff was amazing, super-friendly, and very eager to please. I can't recommend the enhanced Sundance Resort and The (new) Inn highly enough.
