First Time in San Diego
Destination(s): San Diego
San Diego's long coast is filled with tourist havens (like the San Diego Zoo and Balboa Park) as well as local secrets (like Coronado's Cafe 1134 and the indie music joint Belly Up) that make this southern California city so special. Casual ambiance is the specialty, where flip-flops, sand and a tan are always in season. Enjoy the beach at every destination, where most neighborhoods (like Cedros Design District, Ocean Beach and even Gaslamp) are all within walking distance of the water. But be aware of San Diego's vast circumference, as must-see destinations like Coronado, North Park, Pacific Beach and Solana Beach are so far apart a car is necessary. read more about First Time in San Diego... Downtown
Destination(s): Los Angeles
Los Angeles is not New York or Chicago. It developed primarily in the 1920s and again in the 1950s. It became the epicenter of a national experiment; people were tired of the congestion of Eastern US cities. Fifty years later, Los Angeles is a city unlike any other in scope or design. Downtown Los Angeles, long neglected and overlooked, has awakened in the past ten years. It is now a vibrant community, replete with some of the tallest skyscrapers in the country, cultural neighborhoods unique to the area and a rich historical past. It is still a transitional neighborhood, but it now offers any visitor an experience rich in culture and history. This is a two day trip designed to give the visitor a glance into the silent heart of this massive metropolis. This isn't Disneyland or Universal Studios; this is a chance to experience the violent and exciting jolt of a city moving forward. read more about Downtown... Read More
