When I told a friend that I was going to go to Charleston for an overnight stay, she instantly suggested that I stay at the Wentworth Mansion and after I checked out all the positive reviews it received online, I had to give it a try. I have to say that it was by far the best hotel experience that I ever had, and it started before I even got out of the car. My uber driver had just parked and instantly Mr. Kevin appeared seemingly out of nowhere to greet me and to take my luggage. As soon as Mr. Kevin finished checking me in, Mr. Will took me on a brief history tour of the mansion. I arrived in the morning, well before the official check in time of 4pm. I was expecting to be able to just check my baggage but while the room wasn't yet available, I was treated with a kindness and courtesy that is usually reserved for long time guests. I was immediately impressed by the style and class of the hotel and the staff. Before I was even officially a guest, the staff invited me to enjoy all the amenities that the hotel provides such as the tea, lemonade, snacks, whiskey and sherry. When I did get to my room, which was a Mansion Room, I found it to be breathtaking. It was incredibly impressive in size and style. It was such an enjoyable evening after dinner to be able to relax in the library and sitting rooms and experience the elegance that the Mansion has. The next morning, I took advantage of a fantastic benefit that the guests can enjoy which is being able to work out at the nearby Athletic Club. What a magnificent gym. I followed that up by enjoying a full breakfast at the restaurant that is located at the Mansion, Circa 1886 before ending my stay. I have to name three employees of the Mansion who stood out for their genuine kindness and caring for their guests. Mr. Kevin, Mr. Will and Miss Margaret are such extremely nice people who will make you feel so special. They really made my stay memorable. I am already planning a few more trips to the Mansion this year and hope to include a few friends.

We splurged for two nights in the Grand Mansion Suite, celebrating a special occasion. While we were anticipating a great experience, our expectations were exceeded. The suite itself is not only huge, but the woodwork, windows on three sides and the two working fireplaces made it extraordinary. And while we anticipated good service here, the staff felt like family. Will, Kevin and Mark always had smiles on their faces, were happy to chat, and anticipated our needs. A gourmet breakfast at their restaurant, Circa 1886, was included and delicious, and the staff there was wonderful as well. We would recommend the Wentworth Mansion to anyone looking for an extraordinary stay!

Wentworth Mansion is everything people write about and more. It’s a once in a lifetime experience to stay in a beautiful South Carolina mansion with outstanding service, the most comfortable bed and lovely people. Even though every room was booked, its whisper quiet. I loved the free breakfast in the mornings, afternoon wine and appetizers and sherry wine all day. Step back in time and embrace the beauty of staying at Wentworth. Thanks to the staff for making my 70th so special.

Elegant and cozy. Comfortable and high quality. Great value for all they provide. And the view from the Cupola. Wow. Gorgeous room with a bathroom bigger than most nyc apts. The common space was refined, the restaurant a highlight, and the staff first rate. Lisa, Lynnette, Will, Owen, and at the restaurant: Anastasia, and Denis, made this a stay to remember.

The stay of a lifetime, we were floored by the service, beauty, decor, and experience. The reviews are correct that say, 'The problem was that we had to go back home!' Nightly hor d'oeuvres, chef-prepared, and wine was a highlight. We do not get up early on vacation, but we got up every morning for the complimentary 5-star breakfast-- not to be missed. And you do not want to miss dining in the evening at Circa 1886-- make reservations several weeks before your stay.

“I want to tell you that my wife and I had a fantastic vacation at the Wentworth Mansion in Charleston, S.C. The mansion was an unbelievable pleasure. The room was exquisite, the view breathtaking. The service could not have been better. The dinner at Circa 1886 was all we could have asked for to celebrate our anniversary. The little extra touches made it an evening we will not forget.”
