Awful stay at the Seville Hotel NoMad

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 15 hours ago

I am still thinking about what an awful stay it was at the Hotel Seville NoMad this past weekend. Upon checking in, I was told that I was upgraded to a bigger room, which was a nice gesture. However, when I went into the room, it was very outdated, didn’t look anything like the photos and faced a brick wall, close to someone else’s window. The photos online showed a nice, bright cheerful room but this one was very old and dingy. The carpet looked to be on its last legs along with the furnishings. The room had a very musty smell to it and the air conditioner sounded like a loud lawn mower that was about to call it quits. I figured it was due to it being hot outside and it was trying to work overtime but it shouldn’t sound like that. I turned the air conditioning off and the smell got worse. I was really disappointed and honestly didn’t want to put my luggage anywhere so I left it standing up on the wooden platform that was adjoined to the small closet fixture. I didn’t want to touch anything in there. I left the room and hoped to be out as late as possible as it was gross in there but unfortunately a rain storm hit and I had to come back a lot earlier than expected. I didn’t want to be in that room! While I was out, I called and asked if they had mini refrigerators as I was going to get a pizza. I wanted to keep the rest cold for the next morning. They said they did and that they would bring one up. I asked if they could wait until I returned but if they could plug it in, in the meantime to get it cold, that it would help. They said they couldn’t. I didn’t want anymore things to smell in the room, hence asking for it to be already cold. Plus, the food would sit out even longer in the musty room. They said again that they couldn’t plug it in anywhere. The man that I spoke to was actually really rude. I came back early with the pizza and didn’t even bother again with the fridge. I went to bed early in hopes of getting up early to get out of there but when I woke up, my right eye was inflamed, red and itchy. It was the one on the side that was touching the pillow. I haven’t done anything different with my normal routine. I believe it came from the pillow, sheets or some kind of allergens in the musty smelling room. I now have to go to the doctor to get this sorted. And lastly in closing, I didn’t see any smiles from any employees or guests in the hotel. Same with me. I went back today to see what chain this hotel was from and I was floored that it was by Hyatt. My stay cost 321.38 and to be honest, it wasn’t even worth $75.

Great location and value for NYC

Great location and big rooms for NY. I love the location of this hotel - one block from 6 green line so easy to get to Soho, UES and easily walking distance to Times Square. Morning coffee available in the lobby and also happy hour libations offered Tuesday-Saturday (would love that to include a Monday)

Incredible

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

As always, our stay was incredible. This is my absolute favorite hotel. Even with some new faces, they were outstanding, as usual. They considered each detail and always accommodated my specific requests. I am extremely particular, and they exceed my standards every time. We just came back from a mini vacation, and we cannot wait to return. Prime location, clean, professional, and pure perfection.

Great Location, Poor Customer Service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Great location. Room was spacious and clean. Front desk staff seems annoyed and front door staff watched us struggle with our bags in the rain without offering to help or even hold the door. Disappointed in customer service. Probably would not stay here again.

Hesitate to tell everyone about this little gem

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I really like this hotel! The front desk staff is great. I’ve yet to find another hotel in NYC with a 2 Queen room suite. Great for traveling with a friend or family member to each have your own bathroom. Scarpetta, the onsite restaurant is exceptionally good!!
