We loved our getaway at this hotel. The staff at the hotel and the restaurant were terrific. Our room was spacious. Our balcony had an unbelievable view of the lake. There are two pools, one at the level of the main house, and the other up at the villa level. It's a decent walk up to the slightly longer inifinity pool at the villa, but the views are again amazing and there's a hot tub up there. We took advantage of their lakeside and private pier. We used the canoe and their two paddleboards to explore the lake a bit. (For this, go in the morning before the waters get too choppy from all the motorized boats travelling between towns during the day.) The staff also helped book a private boat to take us to one of the other towns (for a fee, of course), which we met by just walking down to their pier. It was nice to have a faster option to get to other lakeside towns. (To compare, we took tuktuks to the main public pier on another day to use the commuter boat; this was fine too, just a longer commute while sometimes jammed in with many commuters and travellers.) Their restaurant and sitting area also have wonderful views of the lake. Both of their restaurants have terrific service. At the main restaurant in the hotel, there's always the fresh fruit at breakfast, though we recommend trying their bacon pancakes, French toast, and fresh eggs too. Try to visit their chicken coop one morning to collect your own eggs for them to cook at breakfast. Do also try their chicken with mushrooms at dinner. At Kinnik, we enjoyed their ribeye and snapper, along with the views of the lake and night sky. We also took advantage of their spa services there. Only two at a time, given their setup. Massage was nice, but I would say the volcanic wrap and exfoliation treatment was even better.

My partner and I recently spent four unforgettable nights at Casa Palopó during our trip to Guatemala, and I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about this magical property. From the moment we arrived, we knew we were somewhere special. The Setting and Rooms Perched on the hillside overlooking Lake Atitlán, Casa Palopó offers what has to be one of the most breathtaking views in Central America. Our room was a stunning fusion of colorful stucco walls, thoughtfully curated Guatemalan art, and every window seemed perfectly placed to frame the shimmering lake and the trio of volcanoes - Tolimán, Atitlán, and San Pedro - beyond. We spent countless hours on our private terrace with morning coffee, watching the light dance across the water, and again at sunset when the sky put on a show worthy of the setting. Every corner of the property is a photograph waiting to happen. The Service - Truly World-Class The staff at Casa Palopó are the beating heart of this hotel. From the warm smiles at breakfast, to the attention to every small detail (a welcome cocktail on arrival, a candle lit in our room in the evening) — we felt genuinely cared for. Every request was met with grace and enthusiasm. It's rare to find a property where you're made to feel like family from your very first hello. The Spa — Pure Bliss My partner treated himself to a facial at the Casa Palopó spa and it was, in his words, absolutely amazing — glowing skin, expert care, and the kind of pampering that made the rest of the trip feel even more special. The therapist was skilled and attentive, and he came back to the room raving about the whole experience. Combined with the solar-heated infinity pool and quiet yoga terraces, this is a hotel that understands the art of slowing down. The Little Touches Beyond the beauty and the service, what struck us most was Casa Palopó's genuine spirit -from the community art project they support to paint all 850 homes in Santa Catarina Palopó, to the intimate scale of the property (only 15 rooms) that made every stay feel personal. It's a hotel with soul. Thank you to the entire Casa Palopó team for making our celebration truly unforgettable. 🇬🇹💛

We spent two nights here and had two amazing dinners at both their restaurants and very nice continental breakfasts. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The room was very well appointed including a Dyson hairdryer, French press coffee, turn down service at night, nightly tea and very comfortable bed! We used the sauna daily and the view from the upper pool is fabulous. The 15-room hotel has such wonderful charm. The staff helped us plan a private boat tour and we visited 2 other towns on the lake. Highly recommend staying here for an elevated experience.

Absolutely amazing – everything was perfect. This is probably the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in and truly deserves five stars for staff friendliness, food, décor, rooms, spa and pool areas. The views from the hotel are spectacular, looking across the lake towards San Pedro and the three volcanoes. Palopó 6.8 had a great menu and overlooked the volcanoes. The continental breakfast was lovely, with fresh fruit, a warm bread basket and homemade jam. One morning, I collected eggs from the chicken coop, so we enjoyed freshly made scrambled and poached eggs. The infinity pool at the top of the hotel, complete with hot tubs, is not to be missed. We spent a day there and had a massage in the spa. Make sure you ask reception to show you where it is! We had dinner at Kinnik on our first night – a fantastic steak restaurant accessed by a little cliff lift, which was so cool. Each evening, the staff turned down the beds and left us a small handmade Maya gift. They also brought herbal tea to our room. Every night we played cards in front of the open fire and relaxed after dinner. There was honestly no downside to this hotel. To visit the other villages, you need to take a tuk-tuk to Panajachel (about 15 minutes), and then boats run regularly from the public dock.

Stunning location with views of Lake Atitlan. Our Master Suite had its own private veranda with views of the lake. Staff throughout were superb - helpful, friendly, attentive and accommodating. Breakfast was excellent, dinners were good but could have been better - lacking consistency in quality from day to day. Accommodation was clean but there is a need for refurbishment e.g. the toilet flush did not work properly, the hot water tap for the wash basin was too tight so we asked for it to be fixed and once it was it did not work, the USB charging port did not work. Minor things but for a luxurious hotel these little things matter and need to be dealt with.

Palopo is the singular most enjoyable hotel I have ever stayed in through Luxury Link or for that matter-anywhere in the world! The views of the magnificent Lake Atitlan framed by the volcanoes in the background is an eye-opening experience that is unmatched anywhere. The management and staff of the Casa Palopo are stealth-like in their first-rate service and guest relations and go above and beyond for their clients. Just to walk the grounds, swim the pools, to view the artwork and furnishings of the rooms throughout the premises is a sensory adventure. Our four days at Casa Palopo was an "extraordinary travel experience of the highest quality in accommodations, service and overall comfort." If you are looking for world-finest class accommodations, natural beauty, superb hospitality - Casa Palopo is the place for you.
