Reviews for The Chambers Hotel

Average hotel. Very dusty hotel. Breakfast is a shame

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 hours ago

Good location in downtown. Poor cleaniness. Too much dust in room with old thick carpet. No option to change. Good shower. Really poor service breakfast. Dirty and dark and very dusty breakfast room.

Room was good, all else was bad

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Hotel has a great location and our room was large, but breakfast and service is probably the worst I have experienced in a very long time. Staff is on their phones, not even looking up as you pass, and *everything* served at breakfast was wrapped in plastic.

Worst Experince Ever - No AC, No Communication

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

This is from my Google review, just making sure everyone knows not to stay here ever DO NOT STAY HERE, the location is the only redeeming quality. The room was okay, but the AC for the whole building is out and it was 88 degrees in my room! And they ran out of fans for guests! Not only was management not on site, they did not respond to the multiple emails I sent either, and I tried both emailing a manager directly when I asked the front desk person, and their general inbox. Also no one picks up the phone either and I can’t even leave a message. I called multiple times over a couple of days, not once did they pick up. I’m extremely disappointed at how unprofessional this place is. This was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had in both hospitality and customer service. I was begging for any type of response, I ended up having to call the booking service I used to get a refund. I was going to stay a week, but left after the first night. On top of all of that, they charge $75 a night for incidentals- so that’s another $450 for 6 nights. Cannot believe I spent $1100 here and they haven’t responded to me in 2 days!! You would be better off literally anywhere else, avoid at all costs. Just for this reviews reference, I checked in the 24th, left by morning of the 25th, and I still haven’t heard a single word from this hotel the evening of the 26th. UPDATE 5/31: So it’s been nearly a week and they never returned communications to me even after I stopped by to speak with the manager in person 🤡🤡🤡 I stopped by 5/29 to speak with a manager only because I happened to be in the area, and I spoke with him briefly about the issues I experienced and to ask when I’m getting my deposit back. Apparently I was meant to get it back the day of original checkout, but given it’s a weekend, I’m letting it slide on the financial institution side of things for a couple of days. I understand that refunds can take time to come back, I guess we’ll have to see. Apparently, he didn’t see any of the multiple emails from me, so he provided me an additional email address to contact him. I even had the him verify it was written correctly and everything. Well that was Friday afternoon, it’s Sunday morning. Nothing. I’ve called, emailed 3 separate inboxes, and spoke with the manager in person and all I got was a bare minimum apology from the guy and some basic acknowledgment that the situation sucks. I got a “sorry” after I had to come in person, and that’s it. I think you actually have to try to ignore your customers this bad. Like I would accept one single email being “Oh we’re so sorry, let us look into this and we’ll be back with you to resolve this” as an acknowledgment to my issues, but nope, nothing. I’ve been thoroughly ignored and got one basic platitude. 0/5, worst customer service I’ve ever dealt with. UPDATE 06/01: Well seems the hotel finally replied to booking.com one week later and they denied me a refund 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡 I seriously cannot believe it. I am hoping that they denied the booking.com request so I can get my $200 cancellation fee back (from booking.com’s side, the hotel did not charge the fee) and the hotel will refund me the in full. I am seriously hoping that is the case, because if they denied me a refund for my stay that was absolutely unacceptable AND front desk staff told me that it would be taken care of AND I had to come back to speak to the manager in-person because, again, NO ONE HAS ANSWERED ME… I am beyond livid. Under no circumstance should anyone ever stay here- they will ignore you and steal your money without any hope of resolution.

No AC

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Really cool hotel in a great location. Very nice and warm welcome by the young man who was working at the time, as soon as I walked onto the floor of my room and in the room itself, I realized how hot it was. The AC was not working, and the young man provided me with a fan to use in the windows that could be opened a Tad. This made sleeping very difficult because it was so hot in the hotel. I had a terrible experience with the woman working the desk upon my departure. Very rude and unprofessional.

Nothing works

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

I don't know what hotel the positive reviewers were staying at, but it wasn't the Chambers. It's a dump! Worn out all over. Half the light switches do nothing. But worst of all the AC doesn't work. The TV doesn't work. The phone to report those things not working, doesn't work. Yes, the staff was friendly. But it's like 80 degrees in my room at almost 11pm. I'm not sleeping. I have 2 nights non-refundable but I'm seriously considering just leaving and eating the 2nd night. I will not be back.
