Wouldn’t Change a Thing!

We had a lovely 3 night stay at Cliveden House. Booked the wellness package directly on their website for the best room rate, breakfast, welcome lunch and 2 spa treatments. Very easy to communicate with them by email to book treatments and dinner reservations prior to arrival. Very convenient to get there from central London - about 45 minutes on the Elizabeth line and then a 10 min uber ride. The property is stunning - the house, common areas, room, spa and grounds. We stayed on the Kipling room which was quiet as it’s far from the main dining and socializing areas and also has a door nearby that takes you outside and to the spa without having to walk through the whole house. Loved the bed with lots of pillows, strong hot shower, in-room nespresso machine, fluffy robes, fresh cooked breakfast with generous buffet and the spa with its gym, outdoor and indoor pools, jacuzzis, steam room and sauna. We opted for the less expensive pub grub at the Astor Grill which was delicious. Service was top notch with attentive but not intrusive staff. We stayed at the end of our trip so we appreciated the quick 30 min ride to Heathrow for our flight home. Honestly, wouldn’t change a thing!

Missed on the basics

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 22 hours ago

Our room, on the top floor, was unbearably hot. The hotel website advertised the room as "air cooled," which we assumed meant air conditioned. The system in our room was not up to the task, and the room stayed hot day and night for the entire length of our stay. Not a little hot, VERY hot - unhealthily so. My husband was nauseous and couldn't eat due to the heat. On our last morning, the water shut off during my shower, twice, with no explanation or warning. It eventually came back on but left me covered in soap subs long enough that they dried into a crust before I was able to rinse off.

Great Place to go

Having wanted to go here for years, we went to celebrate a birthday and it lived up to expectations. Fantastic grounds, immaculately kept, fabulous staff, beautiful rooms and excellent food. Do the boat trip if you can. If you're looking for a wonderful experience, just book it.

Afternoon tea

Enjoyed afternoon tea whilst celebrating our wedding anniversary. The building, it’s history and spectacular grounds are worth the visit. Made even more enjoyable by the attentive staff.

A return visit

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

I have been blessed to have stayed at Cliveden House quite a few times. I love the formality of the public rooms, the comfort of the bedrooms and the beauty of the gardens and grounds. I appreciate some of the staff will recognize me and welcome me back. If you have a chance to stay at this beautiful historic home, save up your pounds sterling and go!
