Fond Doux Plantation & Resort

This resort is the definition of relaxation and tranquility. As a solo traveler, I felt safe and well taken care of on the resort. Staff was friendly and always attentive! The resort was clean and kept tidy which I appreciated. The resort is small, but they offer chocolate making, and other activities I didn’t participate in. There’s two pool areas on property but only one was available, is my only complaint. I would definitely visit again and recommend to others!

This was my second stay at Fond Doux and I would go again. However things this time around were disappointing. There were no evening entertainment options, it would be nice to have at least a live musician some evenings during dinner. The pool was inoperable during the time we were there, and if our cottage didn't come with it's own amazing a private plunge pool I would have been upset. The chocolate tour wasn't running because the person who does it was out sick, it would be great to have backup person for the tour since this was a highlight of my first visit. The resort is located on stunning grounds with trails to explore and the receptionist nor anyone else even described where to go to explore the grounds. It's only because I have been there before that I knew to look for the petit trail/hike that is on the grounds which is amazing. It's a huge amenity and should be played up/offer walking tours of the grounds. Unfortunately the main trail was also under maintenance/closed so we were not able to fully explore it. The small fitness center has mold and was dilapidated and basically unusable. A map of the grounds available digitally would be a great addition so that guests know about all the amenities and the trails. Taxis are very expensive, so you are best off making arrangements with one driver pre-trip to take you everywhere you want to go for a flat fee, otherwise you will wind up spending well over $600 on taxis to from the airport and to go around town. Finally one of the receptionists was cold/had a bit a of an attitude. Now on to the good things and the reasons I would return again - the location is amazing and breathtaking, the cottages are just wonderful, cozy and an amazing place to unplug and recharge. WiFi worked great. Restaurant staff - A+. All staff was super friendly and very helpful except the one receptionist. Fond Doux will always hold a special place in my heart. If you are looking for a place to disconnect and have peace/enjoy nature, this is your spot.

Stayed in the Begonia room for our honeymoon. The hotel property is surrounded by lush green nature, and every room or cottage has its own privacy, the Room was nice and clean . food was amazing. The breakfast buffet was a favorite of ours as every morning was something different to expect. We also had the opportunity to creat our own chocolate bars. But the staff made it most memorable, as they were super accommodating, any request i had was met with 5 star plus service and felt like they did everything to make sure i was having a great time. From the bartenders, waitresses, receptionist, maintenance guy,tour guides,and chocolate lady everyone was amazing and i will be visiting again.

The experience was definitely one to remember. I truly loved the warm service of Diana from the five finger restaurant! Thank you Fond Doux!

The experience we had exceeded our expectations. The staff were polite and friendly. They had made us feel welcome and comfortable. The room we had “Heliconia” was very clean. The restaurant had very delicious food, esp the Chicken Alfredo. Also the free shuttle to Sugar Beach was a nice addition. We would definitely recommend this resort.
