What was once a 16th-century working plantation is now an eco-friendly Caribbean hideaway that pays homage to its storied past. Fond Doux Plantation & Resort, located on the island of Saint Lucia, in the historical center and UNESCO World Heritage Site of Soufrière. The tidy wooden cottages, many cloaked in a crisp white hue, dot the tropical retreat and provide a space for guests to lounge on front porches and enjoy the lush scenery and foliage. Interiors are equally charming, with a blanket of wooden planks coating the floor, rattan furnishings and broad French doors that push open to marry the indoors with the outside.

We stayed for a few days in March. We had the most peaceful and relaxing time. The place is set up in a way that promotes quiet relaxation, from beautiful nature around to delightful grounds and low key restaurant atmosphere. Service is great. Taxi service is timeline and reliable. Everyone is friendly and accommodating. Loved it.

Awesome staff and a fantastic stay, especially for the price!

Fantastic holiday in a beautiful setting. All the staff were amazing and from the moment we arrived made us feel at home and part of the family. Special mentions to Leandra and Elizabeth in the restaurant. Peter with his amazing cocktails and the operations manager whose name escapes me. They went the extra mile to make the whole experience extra special. The shuttle bus to the beach was excellent. We found it handy to check the cruise schedule and go on quieter days when it was very easy to get a free sunbed on the right of the beach. Would definitely recommend staying in a cottage with a plunge pool - the views are incredible.

This resort is just ok. I was disappointed in my room. It was very noisy...not why I came here. The resort needs a lot of updating and is currently a 2-star hotel...

It’s a lovely place in a good location. The restaurant was great. I would have skipped their chocolate tour and done that somewhere else. They weren’t able to actually make chocolate because they were out of cocoa butter-they buy that online. So $120 for 10 a ten minute chat where we got to taste the tiniest shard of leftover chocolate. Not the best. I asked for it to be taken off the bill which they did. There also is no actual spa. They have two different massages you can book 24 hours in advance. I think calling that a spa is a stretch. The room we had was nice, but the bathroom window didn’t close the whole way and they didn’t have mosquito nets over the beds. I woke up after the first night COVERED in mosquito bites. My face, neck and arms has upwards of 60 bites. It looked like I had measles. I wanted to leave. My partner spent a good hour killing the mosquitos in the room and when he was done the white tile floor was covered in dead mosquitos corpses. I understand that the hotel can’t help that insects exist but that room needed mosquito nets and a window that you could close.
