Just got back from the honeymoon of our dreams. Wow - there is no other place like this resort. We even went around to the other nearby properties such as Four Seasons, Fairmont to compare and contrast - Grand Wailea beats all in every category. We had an amazing dinner at Nobu that was up to the level of my Nobu Malibu experience. Fantastic dinner at Humuhumunukunukuāpuaʻa - the ambience is so special - whoever designed this restaurant did an amazing job! Lastly amazing spa experience at their new facility - the relaxation lounge was my favorite. All around incredible service from Daisy at Front Desk who gave us a beautiful Chapel room for our honeymoon, Mohi the Concierge who helped me pre-arrival and then remembered me when I sat in front of her at the Concierge desk (she set up a spectacular snorkeling experience with Ali'i Nui), Sharon at the Valet Desk always with a smile and so eager to please and assist, lastly our incredibly hospitable server London at the luau. Every team member was so genuinely friendly. We decided we'll be back to mark every 5 year anniversary of ours :) Thank you again!

Felt like a Disney resort. No service & focus is on amenities. I was embarrassed in front of my family due to the lack of service. Nickel and dimed, over crowded, nothing included. No beach chairs. Came here bc of brand. Outdated, not maintained, rude/inattentive staff, Brand means nothing. Went to 2 separate common area bathrooms one day and no toilet paper in any stall & gross, especially by the pool.

We got back from a stay at GW in May 2026 with our 3 children (6, 4, 8 months) and one set of grandparents. Pros- the beach is gorgeous, the pool is a lot of fun, cabana rental felt extra special and was a great day. Cons- BEWARE when booking and paying higher price for ocean view room. we booked an ocean view room and our initial room we were given, you couldn’t see the ocean (4th floor of the back towers—see picture). I asked for a move given the higher price I paid for an ocean view and was given one on our second night but had to check out of our room and have luggage stored until we could check back in later in the day. We also were separated from our second room with this move. This then messed up our ability to get wrist bands etc at the pool every day (not just the first day). It didn’t feel accommodating. Because of all this, I feel service is not 5 star for the price. We were at hyatt regency the first half of our stay and service was so much better. These things aren’t required, of course, but we had made a comment that we were celebrating our tenth anniversary on our reservation. This wasn’t addressed at all. Breakfast is expensive, and not even good. The children’s price is actually crazy for how much kids eat. The north gardens (the one we were overlooking) were completely roped off. Also, minor things, but a lot of roof tiles are in disrepair, etc. Overall, for the outstanding prices on Wailea in general, I’m not sure I would pay cash to stay here again. On the flip side, our kids really did have a blast at the pool.

From the moment we pulled into the property, our family was excited and very impressed with the beauty of the property and service we experienced. Check-in was a breeze; our receptionist was very thorough explaining our benefits and amenities through Amex + Hilton status and provided us with options for room upgrades though we declined and stayed on the ground floor Lagoon Tower. The room was clean, and easily accessible from either the walking path or elevators. This area was fairly quiet; we could not hear noise from the pools nearby or even the luau when it was going on. Pools were incredible, especially the kids lagoon where we spent most of our time. Water temperature was perfect and we didn't have any problems securing a pool chair either. Food at Surf Haus was really good, and the servers were all friendly and attentive. We had breakfast at Humuhumu and we'd like to give a shout out to Loida, Marie Ann and Rachel for their wonderful service and smiles! Location of the hotel is seriously perfect; the beach was easily accessible and even a walk to the Shops next door was 5 minutes or up the street to Akamai Coffee was very easy and safe. Our family took advantage of every amenity and benefit offered to us, so we felt the value was accurate, despite the room being a little bit outdated for the price we paid. To commemorate our anniversary, we booked a photoshoot through Pacific Dream Photography on-site and the photos turned out beautiful!! Photographer Cacau did incredible with our kids; he actually got them to smile for the photos! And our gallery viewing with Jim was really fun, he listened to our feedback and offered a really good package when we couldn't decide on the number of photos we wanted. I recommend having a photoshoot with PD for the convenience and just overall great quality of service and photos. Overall, we had a wonderful time at Grand Wailea; I would absolutely come back and I've already recommended it to friends and family. I will think back on this vacation fondly; thank you to everybody at Grand Wailea, you are doing amazing!

Upon arrival we checked in with Cathy. She was not friendly, did not explain any amenities of the property, not even WiFi. She commented about our use of points for our stay. Having to research the entire property on our own was not only cumbersome, but unnecessary. Her failure to advise of the kids arcade/billiard area prevented our kids for 2 nights from enjoying other teens. We are Hilton Diamond members and yes, we used points which we earned through massive spending. This was not a Waldorf experience and thus they should be aware.
