Beautiful hotel, terrible management
I would give this hotel’s management zero stars if I could. One of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. The property is gorgeous, which honestly makes it worse, because the management ruined the whole thing. We booked May 21 to 24 over Memorial Day weekend. After we were already checked in, the staff told us we’d have to change rooms on the 23rd. Annoying, but we agreed. On the 23rd we went to the front desk as instructed and were told the new room wasn’t ready. We offered an easy fix and asked them to expedite cleaning once the previous guest left so we would only be out for a couple of hours. They told us that could not be guaranteed. Their actual solution was for us to check out at 10am, leave the property, and come back at 4pm. That is six hours of sitting around on a holiday weekend, in the middle of a stay we had already paid for!! The manager made no real effort. No expedited cleaning, no temporary room, no holding our bags anywhere useful, nothing. Just rude and dismissive, telling us to leave and come back later. When we pushed back, we were told we’d get a refund if we left instead of sitting outside for the afternoon. We took them at their word and left. We never got the refund. Worse, management told the booking company we had shown up early demanding an early check-in, which is a flat lie. We’re now stuck in a credit card dispute trying to get our money back for a night we didn’t stay. This blew up our holiday weekend and left us feeling dismissed and lied to. A beautiful building does not make up for management that treats guests this way and then misrepresents what happened to avoid accountability

Double charge resort fees and feel entitled that they can do whatever they want with customer's credit card
This hotel double-charged me for the RESORT FEES. I booked the hotel through booking.com, THAT ALREADY INCLUDED THE RESORT FEE. When I checked in, the guy there also confirmed that everything was paid for. However, a day later, when I checked out, I saw a bogus charge of 70$ on my bank card. No matter how much I talked to the front desk, the lady was very rude and REFUSED to provide me a detail bill for the stay. I'm gonna fight for that because it's not right, especially for the hotel that frankly already OVERCHARGED their customers for a basic room.

Not good.
I have never written or posted a review online before ever in my life but felt I had to about this place. Stayed in 2 bed suite for 2 nights. The room and view were amazing. Everything else not so good. Room wasn’t ready for check in at 4. Not ready until 4.40. Interesting their website states charges apply of $100 ph for late checkout. Would be good if they applied that to late check in. Food was soooo disappointing. No cooked breakfast. Only sub par buffet both mornings with same special. I have had better food at motel breakfasts. Dinner first night only ok again. Passable at best. Then the morning we are checking out had a shower and put on robe, sitting in bed notice ants ALL OVER sleeve of robe. Called front desk. Then on check out mentioned again. No apology and it don’t seem like they were suprised. Guy on front desk not friendly at all and had his head stuck in his phone them when we were walking out. For the price of the room it’s not worth it. Ancillary service and and food just not up to scratch. Our family has been to Mendocino many times over the years and would never stay there again.

Heritage House is the place to stay on the Mendocino coast!!
My daughter and I came down from Eugene Or for my 60th birthday, to celebrate and go whale watching with the indigenous community initiative and the noyo marine science cebeter folks. The accommodations were amazing. Our house/bungalow was cozy, well appointed and huge! The separation of space was perfect for our group, as was the big sectional couch for watching movies. It had a peek of the ocean from the giant deck and a sweet sitting area in the front yard. The grounds are gorgeous, perched on top of the ocean and creek, with all the buildings facing the ocean. And the restaurant was top notch. Incredible daily breakfast, and the dinner menu as well. We ate there for every meal, it was so good. I’d recommend this place to everyone visiting the Mendocino coast. And can’t wait to stay there again when we come down.

Great Property!
I just wanted to start of by saying what wonderful customer service and care this property has for their guest. Debbie in particular really took the time to help me out. She took the time to call and help with any issues that arose. I will definetly be back to visit and certainly look forward to it.

My husband and I just spent a long weekend at Heritage House and had a wonderful time. The views are amazing, and the newly renovated rooms are beautiful and comfortable. We would definitely recommend it.
