Kamandalu Ubud

Lovely setting in nature, with clean rooms. Staff couldn't do more to be helpful, excellent customer service throughout from the whole team. Would definitely recommend to stay here.

Great experience, very good hospitality and nice atmosphere

My partner and young child and I stayed at Kamandalu for 4 nights. We booked a 2 bedroom Valley Pool Villa. Check in was scheduled for 2pm. We arrived at around 1pm after our transfer from our previous accommodation. We proceeded to have the check in paperwork completed and were advised we'd been given a free upgrade to a Junior Presidential 3 Bedroom Pool Villa. OK, no worries. We were told that the room would be ready soon. At around 2pm, our check in time, I asked for an update on our room availability, and I was advised it would be another 30 minutes or so. Given the lobby isn't air conditioned, and we have a young son (14 months old) I asked for somewhere cooler to wait. They put us in a function space. We didn't get into our room until 2.50pm. As soon as we got to our upgraded room, we realised it wouldn't be suitable due to a large staircase that was unable to be blocked off so our child would have been in danger of falling, plus the fact that we would have been on the top floor with our child on the bottom floor, meaning any night time wake ups would have been challenging to deal with. We went back to reception to advise the upgraded room wouldn't be suitable, only to be informed that the room we booked wasn't available. We went to have an early dinner whilst waiting for a resolution. We were then advised that they could facilitate the change of rooms, but needed to do it immediately, as there was going to be another group who would need to move into the upgraded room. Overall, the check in experience and the getting settled in the room was very painful. Once we were settled in our correct room that we booked and paid for, we were happy with everything else. We received a reduction in some of the resort costs as a make up for the checkin issues. The room we selected had an amazing view and nice facilities (although getting slightly aged in some ways). Staff were terrific to deal with as a general rule. The pools were well maintained and clean. The location was good, being just far enough out of Ubud to not feel like we were in the hustle bustle, but close enough to make travrelling in there nice and quick. Overall a positive stay, let down by the issues at check in.

We recently spent two nights at Kamandalu in Ubud, and it was the absolute perfect setting for a calm and relaxing holiday. We loved our villa—it was beautifully maintained and surrounded by such a peaceful, quiet environment. Beyond the stunning property itself, the staff truly made our stay unforgettable. The service was fantastic, and their warm, attentive care made everything feel incredibly special from start to finish. If you are looking for a serene retreat with exceptional hospitality in Bali, I cannot recommend Kamandalu enough. We left feeling completely refreshed!
