We cannot stop talking about how much we enjoyed our stay at The Montague. If you are lucky enough to get a reservation I recommend that you take it. From the people greeting us and accommodating our needs to the bartenders and wait staff the service was simply something you don’t typically experience anymore. The rooms were left spotless each day by the cleaning staff. We returned there to eat most of our week long stay as it was better than all of our other experiences. A huge shout out to the gentleman the first evening who created an immediate solution for a booking mistake, to the general manager who created a fabulous solution for the remainder of our stay and finally to the gracious concierge, Mustafa, for his caring approach to our overall London experience. We are so very grateful to them all. I’ve been to London several times and this has been by far the best service I’ve encountered.

A superb hotel. Beautifully decorated, nice rooms, and great service. The staff are attentive, courteous, friendly, and so very personable. My wife and I had a great experience and will return.

What a most enjoyable stay we had at the lovely Montague on the Gardens hotel. Quite honestly we felt as if we were guest at a manor home rather than a hotel. The warmth and hospitality of the staff far exceeded our expectations. And I hesitate to provide particular names because everyone- from door greeter, receptionist, porter, and bar/ restaurant were delightful in every way. Housekeeping also did a perfect job servicing our room. But honestly the entire staff made us feel like we were old friends coming to visit. And the location in Covent Garden could not be better. Located across the street from the British Museum ( don’t miss it) and walking distance to National Portrait Gallery, Trafalgar Square and the theaters. If you’re staying over a weekend, it was particularly enjoyable after a day of sightseeing to enjoy a drink and lite bites in the garden bar while listening to a wonderful saxophone player. Highly recommend this very comfortable, welcoming hotel.

This hotel was delightful. In a formerly residential section of Bloomsbury, it is right next-door to the British Museum and close to the hustle and bustle of nearby shops and restaurants. The nearest Tube stops were about a 10-minute walk away. The room itself was small – most standard rooms and hotels in London are small – but The abundance of mirrors made the room feel larger. It was beautifully decorated and there was just enough room to unpack two suitcases without using the floor. There were plenty of outlets (including a North American one), and although there was no refrigerator, there were facilities for making hot coffee, chocolate, and tea. The coffee was actually made with a French press. The bed was very comfortable, and there was a small desk with if you needed to work. The television was quite large, but it did not dominate. And although the room faced Montague Street (on the third floor), there was very little street noise. Indeed, the room was exceptionally quiet. The bathroom was well appointed, with plenty of light and a shower that was either handheld (a bit anemic, but still functional) or overhead, providing water from an outlet in the ceiling. The blue night light was an especially welcome touch. The staff was extraordinarily pleasant and helpful. There was an “optional“ fee of £15 per night as a gratuity, to which we readily agreed. Downstairs, the Leopard Room bar was pleasant for a drink or a beer, and there were seats in the conservatory if one wanted to eat in a more alfresco style. In short, the Montague on the gardens was a pleasure, and we would definitely stay there again.

Our stay was amazing. We've enjoyed it very much. We appreciated the small touches, e.g., the Welcome Card in the room, handwritten by the Managing Director. But also the wonderful service-minded staff, who remembered our last name. Abby (misspelt?) the Doorman was very friendly, but also the staff in the Dining Room and the Breakfast Room, as well as the Reception. My wife had worked the week before (I am retired), and she said she was very relaxed after the stay. Breakfast was excellent, we got it half price (£ 15) but it is doubtful if we'd pay full price, £ 30 (which is a bit expensive for our taste). We would like to come back. Location is very good, with walking distance to Tottenham Court Road Tube Station. We are satisfied guests!
