Beginning as a barn in the 1870s, The Mountain Top Inn & Resort has evolved into a classic four-season resort in the town of Chittenden in central Vermont, just 11 miles from Killington. President Eisenhower put it on the map during a fishing trip in 1955, and today it holds its own among the country's finest lodgings. Bedrooms boast unique treasures such as a rough-hewn timber bed or double-sided fireplace, and the Highlands Dining Room showcases sumptuous cuisine.
The resort's Nordic Ski & Snowshoe Center offers more than 60 kilometers of trails for cross country skiing and snowshoeing with 40 kilometers groomed. During the winter months, you can also take a horse-drawn sleigh ride complete with Clydesdales. Warm weather brings an array of activities, from kayaking to scenic pontoon boat tours.
