Reviews for Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara

Fabulous Resort but beware of extra charges

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 14 hours ago

The Qasr Al Sarab is an extraordinary place. The location is truly in the desert, the hotel looks like an ancient fort, the staff are friendly and welcoming, the rooms are atmospheric, clean and comfortable, the food is amazing and the pool spectacular. We were delighted with the falcon dispaly, archery and camel riding experiences. Sadly there is a 'but'. Our experience was tarnished by extra expenses being added to our bills. For example, we had pre-booked and paid for the camel ride only to be charged again. Of course this was rectified when we pointed it out and we thought that there had been a simple error. However, there were additinal charges on our bills for dining and for our room (that we had pre-paid in full), all of which had not been incurred by us and that were removed from the bills when we pointed it out. Our advice is to please check your bills before paying any extra. It is because of this, we would not return to this Hotel and I can give no more than 3 stars.

Five Times A Winner

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

This was my fifth sojourn in the desert. Inevitably, you make comparisons, and this was right up there for several reasons:- 1) There was a very real sense of recognition, and I was pleased to be met by Jean Paul and other managers who had my back throughout. 2) It's well known that I love the serenity of the desert and do not want it undermined. In every sense, the choice of room and placement in the restaurant maximised this potential. 3) Abhushek, my inductee, was superb at recognising me as a returning guest. 4) Amenie is a great addition. The staff are full of fizz, not literally!! The food is authentic Italian, and it has a superb view of the desert. 5) Breakfast. This time, they knocked it out of the park. At the seat service for great Shakshuka, French Toast and a dish that Mary recommended. Mary exemplifies the best of UAE service. Humble, kind, knowledgeable, and very happy in her role rather than the reluctant or artificial service of elsewhere. Suhail and the Spa were as good as ever, and a big shout out to the chef for his mother's pudding (exquisite) and Christiane for a brilliant spa experience. My thanks to one and all for a wonderful interlude in the Empty Quarter.

Unforgettable Desert Luxury Stay with Outstanding Hospitality

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

I had an absolutely amazing stay at this resort and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique luxury desert experience. From the moment I arrived, everything felt smooth and well-organized. The check-in was quick, and the welcome from the staff made me feel genuinely valued as a guest. The location itself is breathtaking – peaceful desert views, total privacy, and a very relaxing atmosphere. I stayed in a One Bedroom Pool Villa, and it was exceptional. The villa was spacious, clean, and beautifully maintained with a private pool and everything needed for a comfortable and luxurious stay. Housekeeping and overall service were excellent throughout my visit. What really made the experience special was the hospitality. My Villa Host, Shubham Kumar, was extremely professional, friendly, and always available whenever I needed anything. Every request was handled quickly and smoothly, and he truly made my stay more comfortable. I would also like to thank Mr. Manish Kumar (Executive Assistant Manager – Rooms) for his welcoming attitude and for personally ensuring that even a small issue was resolved immediately. The breakfast experience, spa, and overall service across the resort were also very good, with attentive and friendly staff everywhere. The only small issue I faced was with the response time on the Minor DISCOVERY chat when trying to book an activity at night. Replies were delayed, and I missed the chance to complete the booking. Improving response time on the app chat would make the experience perfect. Despite that, everything else was outstanding. The overall hospitality, attention to detail, and quality of service were truly world-class. I would definitely return again in the future.

World class hospitality in one of the most breathtaking settings on earth.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

From the moment we arrived until the moment we reluctantly departed, Qasr Al Sarab exceeded every expectation. The setting is simply breathtaking, with endless dunes, spectacular sunsets and some of the clearest night skies we have ever experienced. Our villa was beautiful, private and exceptionally well-appointed, providing everything a family could need for a relaxing escape. What truly sets this resort apart, however, is its people. Every interaction felt genuine, warm and personal. Nothing felt scripted or mechanical. From the thoughtful arrival experience and seamless service throughout our stay to the small touches, such as replenishing our car with chilled water for the journey home, every detail had clearly been considered. The breakfast offering was outstanding, the facilities excellent, and our children absolutely loved every minute of the experience, particularly the villa, the food, and even meeting the resident falcon in reception. Having stayed at some of the region's most celebrated luxury properties, Qasr Al Sarab stands out for one simple reason. It combines world-class facilities with genuine hospitality. We arrived as guests and left feeling as though we were saying goodbye to friends. Without doubt, one of the finest resort experiences we have enjoyed anywhere.
