American Bar

Reassuringly expensive - spent an afternoon in the American Bar situated on first floor. Well looked after by the staff and enjoyed a couple of signature cocktails.

5* Luxury at its best in London

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

We have stayed at the Savoy for a number of years for our Christmas visit to London in December. I have stayed in many 5* hotels around the world through work. The Savoy always has a magical feel and we are repeatedly made to feel extremely welcome and special as if we are their best customers. It truly is one of the best hotels in the world and have perfected luxury. The location tucked away off the main road next to the river is nice and central for everything. The staff are extremely friendly, helpful and couldn’t be more accommodating to every requirement. The bars are lovely and the club sandwich is one of the best in the world. Why choose anywhere else in London, we don’t!

Wonderful afternoon tea experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

We booked here for afternoon tea and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. They had a refurbishment, which looks incredible! The sandwiches are refillable, all you have to do is ask for whichever ones you want, which was great as we have been to some places where you cannot have more! I'm more of a savoury lover, so they were my favourite part; however, the cakes and chocolate after were wonderful! Great selection of teas, and also have the option to add champagne. Overall, definitely one of the better afternoon teas we have had in London!

More than a bed, Sir.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

While traveling in Paris, I heard a man say, "Why would you ever stay at a luxury hotel? It's just a bed for the night..." This man has not stayed at the Savoy nor do I wish it on him. As soon as you step into the lobby, you feel lighter, held, calmed down from the traveling, be it a day or a month, and you won't want to leave. There is something about the combination of silence in the rooms/halls, the differing elevators, the fact that the staff has everything coordinated, or maybe it is their signature smell (this gets me at many a luxury hotel). Still, whatever it is, they have it here in spades. I have stayed at Ritz-Carlton, Rosewoods, "leading hotels of the world", COMOs, Relais and Chateaux, "small luxury hotels", and small boutiques like this still take the cake. I feel calm and safe here, and that is worth the price to me. 5 stars to a top hotel in the best city.

Afternoon tea

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

My wife and myself booked afternoon tea to celebrate my wife's 50th, the surroundings were excellent capped off by the brilliant pianist, the food was very tasteful and plentiful, we even had to take some home. Our servers, Archie and a lovely young lady who's named i can't remember sort, but it began with 'J' were brilliant, taking their time to explain exactly what was in the sandwiches and cakes, and to cap it all off before we left they brought my wife a cake and birthday card, can't recommend this enough for a extra special experience.
