Stolen ring

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 13 hours ago

We arrived at 6:30pm put our bags in our room I washed my hands and took my wedding ring off and left it by the sink when we got back from dinner at 7:30 pm housekeeping staff had been in our room to leave chocolate on our bed apparently that’s the turn down service. My ring was gone. I turned every bag all my clothes and suitcases upside down 3 times my ring was no where to be found also the drain holes are too small for the ring to have gone down. The hotel staff said there was nothing they could do Also compared to the rest of O haha I forgot to mention the next night the housekeeping staff that stole came back the next night to put the chocolate on the bed but we stopped her from coming in she was full of gold necklaces and bracelets earrings she waits until the people leave then runs around flaunting it. There is no way they don’t know she’s doing it. Be ware this resort comes off as the place to be just don’t trust anyone even the hotel staff I am sure there are more people out there I hope you post review as well

Villa Stay - Beautiful yet flawed for the price

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

I stayed with family in a resort Villa, so wanted to give a review from that perspective! Overall it's a stunning location with (mostly) great food, but we feel the service and accommodation was disappointing for the high price. Villa: Pros: The villa was beautiful and well appointed. Lovely heated pool, comfy beds, good air conditioning. Cons: We had a broken fridge and nobody came to fix it (after we complained twice and were told someone would come the same day - they never did) A few of the sun-loungers were broken. Our pool heating also broke on the last day, and the villa didn't have any info how to use the fire pit or the appliances. Room service was alright, but for the price you would hope for much more exceptional food. Too expensive. These are Aman resort prices for lovely but not 'full luxe' villas that should be flawless. Resort: Pros: Pescatore and Piri-Piri Steakhouse restaurants were AMAZING. Big shoutout to Ricardo Lopez and Susanna for being excellent hosts and also kindly serving our child first. Delicious food. The resort also had beautiful surroundings, and nice touches such as ice cream stands. Zest was also great for a healthy option. Cons: The hotel shuttle system doesn't have enough staff. You need a shuttle to get from some rooms to the main hotel area and some of the restaurants. They promised 5 to 10 minutes wait, but we had 3 instances of having to wait 30 minutes or more, leaving us either stranded at a restaurant or late for a reservation with a hungry child. Also once another family took our shuttle without the driver checking it was for them, so the system doesn't feel organized. Check-in was chaotic and staff seemed flustered about transporting our luggage to the room. We were asked to stand with our suitcases for 20 minutes before I suggested they just send them to us. We had many questions about our villa and it seemed no one was properly trained or educated to help us. A lot of the restaurants were closed. Indian, Italian, and worse of all the beach club which was a real shame. There was no mention of this when we made the reservation , so it was a disappointing surprise. All the food is about 10-20 Euros too expensive. Especially 'O Grill' Buffet restaurant where they charge 60 Euro per person and 30 Euro for a 4 year old (!!!!). Our Buffet bill was higher than that of the fine dining fish restaurant. The beach is a long hot walk away (without cover) - the sun loungers are really packed together so you feel squashed in with other residents. They don't feel like luxury sun loungers/parasols, it's quite cheap feeling. We did appreciate the staff who would offer delivery food and drink to the loungers. Summary: Beautiful surroundings and some special restaurants, but I am not sure we'd come again unless the service and accommodation reflect the incredibly steep price, compared to other hotel experiences. This aside we generally had a lovely family holiday and don't regret the visit!

We are staying here right now. Bars closed. Restaurants closed. Things aren’t good beware! We stay here a lot and it’s not what it used to be. Mare restaurant destroyed in winter storms. No main bar apart from outside!!!

They don't care about their guest

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Absolute shambles; no help when we came to the hotel. No parking despite saying there is; had to look around for 45 minutes for a spot. No one told us where things were around the hotel when we came. And we are staying in a room with a 4 year who has been trying to sleep when there's a massive wedding right outside our room. No help or alternatives given. Phoned the team 5 times and always got told we would get called back and didn't get called back; told the volume would go down; it didn't. Very poor experience. If a zero rating could be given, I would give it.

Very poor service.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

We are repeat guests here having been here three other times. Standards have fallen off drastically. Ring the concierge takes 20 minutes to get an answer. Shuttle takes 45 minutes to arrive minimum. Pools get closed randomly for events leaving kids stuck using much smaller pools and waiting for shuttles to bring us around the resort. Service at pools is exceptionally slow. Better to bring your own drinks as it takes ages to get a drink. Golf course tee boxes and fairways are not in great condition. Previously a fantastic resort. Unfortunately, the standards have plummeted. Don’t think we’ll bother coming back.

Thank you for a lovely stay at Sheraton Algarve Hotel. We enjoyed it very much indeed. We really appreciated the room upgrade, the bottle of port, and we were most impressed with the property. I must also say that all the staff that we dealt with were very helpful which also makes a big difference.
