We loved the María Christine hotel. From the mi Ute we arrived, our car was taken care of and we were checked in by an extremely friendly staff. The room was fantastic. Spotless and very comfortable. The restaurant and bar must be visited. From scrumptious food and delightful cocktails, served by the most professional staff was a total delight. The spa was an experience not to forget. From the indoor pool, steam room and sauna. We were totally pampered. You can even watch a movie LOL of your choice in the very impressive theatre. All in all an amazing experience. Do yourself a favor if you are visiting Guanajuato. Stay at the Maria Christina hotel. You will have a wonderful experience.

I had an amazing stay here, it was honestly one of the best experiences I’ve had in Mexico. The location is perfect, right next to a lot of the main tourist attractions. The hotel itself is beautiful and full of character, with a rich history that you can really feel as soon as you walk in. I even had the chance to meet the director, Mr. Klaus, who was genuinely kind person and made the experience feel even more personal. This place goes is more then just a hotel, it feels like part of the trip itself. 10/10, I would absolutely come back.

I had mentioned to my wife a couple of weeks ago that I needed a short break. I had been working quite a lot and wanted something special. Boy, did I get it. She booked us at the Villa Maria Cristina in Guanajuato. What a wonderful stay! You didn't really need to leave the hotel although Guanajuato is a colorful and active city. The staff is first rate and each of them go out of their way to make your visit a total pleasure. The restaurant downstairs is fabulous. We tend toward being "foodies," especially my wife. The service was outstanding and the food incredible. Our room was perfect. But more than anything, I come back to the staff. Klaus was on top of everything. Alex was extremely attentive and made sure everything was right for us. NO QUESTION we will stay again and it will be soon.

The Villa Maria Cristina was superb. The room and grounds were spectacular, as was the service. Staff was attentive (but not overbearing) and helped with transit from the airport, local taxis, and anything else we needed. The restaurant was very good, and room service was prompt. We had not planned ahead for Valentines Day, and yet they found a table for us without missing a beat, even though the restaurant was obviously very busy. The prices, while not inexpensive, were fair and reasonable. We also were not nickled and dimed with hidden fees: the price was as stated, and there was not even a charge for sodas and water in the mini-fridge. One concern I had going in was the distance to the city center, but we found the walk (15-20) minutes to be an advantage, as the hotel is a bit separated from the very busy streets of the old town. In sum, we loved the hotel and hope to be back soon.

We had an excellent time at VMC - the resort is beautiful and in a lovely setting, set apart from the downtown, but still within an easy 20 minute walk of the historic center, if you're so inclined. The room was clean and quiet, the staff always friendly and helpful, and the service top notch. We especially appreciated the assistance of Klaus and his staff in sorting out our transportation options on our departure! We came here after visiting Mexico City and San Miguel de Allende - Guanajuato is most definitely worth the visit, for its history, scenery, culture, cuisine and people. Our visit was too short!
