Absolute luxury escape

We again had a fantastic weekend at Tower Lodge in Pokolbin. The suites are gorgeous—super comfy beds and amazing bath & shower. We have loved each of our three stays to celebrate special occasions and look forward to visiting again. Brook, Guy and Olivia treated us like family, nothing was too much trouble, from our cocktail making experience to the awesome dinners. Perfect for relaxing or visiting any of the fabulous cellar doors nearby. Also the local Kangaroos are fabulous to watch as they sit in the shade of the trees.

Nice, but could easily be much better

Stayed here for a few nights after reading the reviews. The location was good and it was a nice quiet place. The room itself was a good size, but was not very light and airy and could have done with some TLC and a freshen up with some lighter colors. The bed and the bathroom were good, although the locking of the room door was very strange, with the door having to be locked from the outside before going to bed. Never seen it before……. My biggest disappointment was the WiFi. It was slowwwwww, and I mean slow. Normally you would expect 30-50+mbps but this was between 3 & 4 mbps. I brought this up with the office lady who said she would discuss with the manager. Nothing was ever done and I didn’t receive any feedback. Another thing was the staff seemed very few and far between, possibly a cost cutting thing by the owners. On a positive note, the highlight was the food. This was very nice and well presented and the staff were very attentive.

Magnificent! Special experience.

Seeking a long weekend escape, my partner and I stayed at Tower Lodge and from the moment we arrived we knew it would be a special experience. From check-in on Friday to to check-out on Sunday everything on offer at Tower Lodge was magnificent. Staff were professional, highly attentive and very helpful - special call-out to Sam, Rachel, Brooke, Alyssa and Ella for the outstanding service. Our suite was immaculate and luxurious - a large, spacious room, beautifully styled and furnished, with an extremely comfortable bed and an expensive bathroom including a large bath. We had dinner both nights at the Tower Lodge Restaurant and breakfast both mornings. Sensational food and wine in a lovely, romantic setting. A great fine-dining experience. Tower Lodge is truly world class - we look forward to returning.

70th birthday celebration.

From the minute you arrive, to the time you leave, everything about Tower Lodge was excellent. Helen welcomed us so warmly. There was nothing the staff would not do for you. The room was spacious, bed extremely comfortable, pillows good and we loved how our room was made up every morning while we were at breakfast. Our only suggestion would be having milk we could see the expiry date as it was a refillable bottle of milk, which over 3 days was not replaced by housekeeping. A personal preference for me would be coffee bags or sachets of coffe rather than a coffee machine as I found the coffee very strong. Also leaving more than 3 tea bag packets daily would be better too. Just a personal thing and definitely not a criticism. We had a breakfast, lunch or dinner package for which we chose dinner each night and it did not disappoint. Food was of a high calibre for both breakfasts and dinners, although by day three the same menu at dinner was a little repetitive, perhaps a special dish each night would be good. The private dining room with own fire was sensational. The staff went above and beyond for guests and were attentive and professional. They had free masterclasses of an afternoon from 4pm, one afternoon wine tasting, another gin tasting and the last night a wonderful lesson in cocktail making. Alyssa and Gus made our nights, they were amazing. All in all, go to Tower Lodge and enjoy the estate, food, drinks and relax. It reminded me of our trip to Tuscany. It was a perfect choice for my husband's 70th birthday. We cannot wait to go back!

4 Nights at the Remarkable Tower Lodge!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed January 2, 2025

Having visited the Hunter Valley numerous times, I can confidently say that Tower Lodge stands out as the best place we’ve stayed so far. Each individual suite is uniquely designed, and we were fortunate enough to stay in Suite 8, which was incredibly spacious, impeccably clean, and beautifully styled with a charming view of the vineyards and kangaroos! Here are the highlights of our stay: - Great Location & Architecture: The lodge’s design and setting are simply stunning. - Exceptional Staff: The staff were fantastic, always going the extra mile, both at the front desk and in the dining room. - Delicious Food: Our package included breakfast and lunch/dinner, and every meal was outstanding. - Excellent Wine Selection: A great variety of wines to choose from. - Impeccable Room Service: The room was always perfectly made up when we returned from breakfast, even though we rarely saw the room service team. - Resident Kangaroos: We loved seeing the resident kangaroos, such a delight! - Wonderful Pool & Sauna: Perfect for relaxation. Our only suggestion would be to add some cereal options at breakfast, my partner would have loved some muesli! Overall, we absolutely loved our stay. Having explored the wineries many times before, we didn’t leave the lodge except to see the HVG lights, which of course are spectacular. Thank you for taking such good care of us. We’ll definitely be back! Cheers, Paul & Maria
