About the Hotel

Filmmaker Federico Fellini is considered a master of dreamscapes, and it is no wonder he drew much of his inspiration from Grand Hotel Rimini. This romantic national monument and new member of the Select Hotels collection basks in fresh sea air in the town of Rimini on Italy's eastern coast. You will have a difficult time deciding which is most impressive - the property's 4,000 square meters of parkland, its guest rooms showcasing 18th century Venetian and French antiques, or the private hotel beach on the Adriatic coast.

Reviews for Grand Hotel Rimini

A very traditional 5* hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

We had a pleasant 4 night stay. The hotel has a private beach and a small kids pool next to the beach which was fantastic. The main pool isn’t heated so very cold for kids even in August. I’d say it is very traditional in style which is not what we usually opt for in a hotel, however we were meeting friends there and it seems like the best hotel in Rimini. The main negative for us is that as with much of Italy, the restaurant was not prepared for those who have a nut allergy, I only found one helpful waiter who was able to speak good enough English to discuss what food definitely did not contain nuts

Disappointing.

Bed's are amazing, incredibly comfortable, beach was lovely, beach sun bed towels were super soft, the beach staff were nice. And that's where the positives end. No tea or coffee facilities in the room, you have to call down for a "kettle kit", which turned out to be literally a kettle so again you have to call for tea bags and milk. There are two nightclubs that blast music until 4am so dependant on where your room is, it may mean you get no sleep. But ultimately its the staff that let this place down and downgrade it from a supposed "5 star" to a 3 star. The younger staff are good, attentive and friendly and should be kept and cherished. The older staff (restaurant manager, male and female), working at breakfast and dinner are just a let down. Rude, inattentive and slow. They avoid eye contact so you spend ages waiting to ask someone for something. When they finally decide to answer you, its then a long wait. We once received our drinks after the meal had ended despite asking a couple of times. This was on our first night of arrival. They seem to favour the older guests which is so ridiculous, the hotel is going to need to impress the younger guests to ensure the future of the hotel otherwise it will literally die out. Such a disappointment and I won't be recommending this hotel to anyone. Quite the opposite.

Beautiful, but more an event location

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Beautiful hotel, but the hotel's focus lies mostly on external events hosted in the garden, beach or terrace. That leads to noise nuisance and staff being occupied by it. I don't mind the occasional wedding but every single night gets very annoying. A real 5-star hotel should always focus on the guest first in my opinion.
