Fairmont Austin

Loved our stay here, 2 issues, no personal fridge in room. The fridge that was there was stocked with for-pay items, but no room for our personal items (water, leftovers). We also didn’t receive $25 credit for daily services that came with our reservation. Ended up costing us an extra $75 for our stay. Not a huge deal but was encouraged to order services & dine while checking in and that this benefit would be added after checkout. Never was, but didn’t affect overall stay, just the wallet.

Anna Rivera did a great job at the gold lounge; she helped us with reservations and places of interest. Was there for a convention and it was such a nice stay of learning and relaxation.

The construction noise was so unbearable and it started early each morning including on Saturday. I stayed for 5 nights and getting over jet lag was impossible because it felt like the noise was in the bedroom, 18 floors above ground level! The room was spacious and had a comfortable bed but the water pressure in the shower was poor. The bar/restaurant downstairs was good. Service was patchy and often slow throughout the hotel.

Room 3355 had a nice view, a comfortable bed, and good blackout drapes, but the air conditioner blew loudly (even on the low fan setting) and the water pressure in the shower was dismal - not good for trying to rinse shampoo and conditioner out of your hair, if you have longer thick hair as I do. The spa was lovely and I had a fantastic Recovery massage with Casey (male). My Brighten Pedicure was good, but the technician was running 15 minutes late so it wasn’t nearly as relaxing as I had hoped. She was apologetic as I had another appointment afterward which I told her up front when she came to retrieve me from the waiting lounge, but gave no explanation as to why she was late for the pedicure.

John, the manager, truly made this a 5-star experience from start to finish. We booked through a third party, and often hotels treat those reservations differently, but that was absolutely not the case here. John went above and beyond to make my husband and I feel welcomed, valued, and taken care of throughout our stay. The room was incredibly clean, spacious, and comfortable. The food was top-notch, and the service across the hotel was exceptional. Every interaction felt genuine and accommodating. John deserves a tremendous amount of credit for creating such an amazing experience. Because of him and the overall quality of the hotel, we will absolutely stay here again the next time we’re in Austin. The value, service, and hospitality were outstanding. Highly recommend.
